No, it's actually the hornets that sing the musical tunes. They're all just very sinister.

Why can't wasps sing musical tunes while they work, like the goblins in The Hobbit?

5 days ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Where there's a wasp, there's a way!

4 days ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Be more in tune with a battle hymn. Lil angry fucks

5 days ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I know I can pet the bees (VERY gently as they're small) without too much issue, wasps and hornets are just too aggressive for that

4 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

they are not counterparts

This is us vs maga

I fucking hate bees. Here's why... I ride a motorcycle. If I hit a bee, the little bitch will sting me and its stinger will rip out and deliver the whole load of pain poison. Then it will die. It will sacrifice its life to cause me pain. FUCKER! Wasps may sting if I hit one, but I have yet to receive a really painful sting from one. Wasps can control the amount of poison they inject and can retract their stingers. Wasps are native to North America, so they are just part of the landscape

If you poke either dwelling its inhabitants angrily spill out like a change machine that had a $20 inserted into it

my entomologist friends insists that the villains are just misunderstood

they probably cheered for Anakin when he slaughtered the young 'uns too

nice subject-verb agreement, there, past me

tell your friends that it isnt a misunderstanding from a 5yr old who got stung over dozen times in head when I never disturbed them I was simply walking by a tree.

4 days ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

How dare you walk by a tree

I watched a spider getting chased by a parasitic wasp in our yard the other day.

I’m sure someone was about to be informed about their cars extended warranty.

Wait wait, this is just Sheogorath and Jyggalag isn't it??

Welcome to the Shivering Isles, Hero.

5 days ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Ah, a daedric enthusiast, I see!

4 days ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Not really. Jyggalag is like...toxic order. There would be no candy under him...and Sheogorath is more like early 2000s "lol so random" crazy than hornet aggression. Plus 1 for the reference tho

4 days ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

No, Sheogorath is the candyman...

I don't see any cheese!

The Captain, speaking over his shoulder

Redford, gently nodding.

4 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Jyggalag was plenty destructive and didn't seem like the candy-making type.

5 days ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 1

Jyggalag is the real dangerous one.

it's raining dogs, oh fuck, it's raining dogs

Gesundheit.

They don't. Both provide snacks totheir offspring - the ones on the left deliver sweets, the ones on the right serve mostly meat. In addition, those on the right keep my greenhouse clean of any six legged pests - all that meat has to come from somewhere.

Ah, I see your team bee. I prefer the more quiet team spider. They are both terrible, and nightmare fule, but team spider seems to be the underdog. They get my vote.

No more horn worms in my garden! Thanks wasps!

Bees. They eat bees.

4 days ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yes - I've seen clips and read about them treating hives as (well defended) larders. OTOH, neither the wild bees (who are nesting in my garden) nor the honeybees (visiting my pond for refuelling) seem to mind very much while out in the open. Maybe because there's enough food around that won't fight back.

Nice bonus (albeit parasitoid not as much social) that they keep the rest of us in fruit+veg because they're out merking all the caterpillars.

5 days ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

as a person who was stung in head dozen+ times as a 5yr old child by hornet....right can burn in hell :|

4 days ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

Wasps and hornets can burn.

4 days ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 5

You can burn.

4 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Please don't. They are a beneficial part of the ecosystem

4 days ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

They actually help pollinate. If you don’t have an allergy, consider keeping a safe distance

IIRC, of the thousands of species in wasp in north america, relatively few of them sting humans.

5 days ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Stand still and hope? How about "Say Hello to my little friend!"?

4 days ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Not to be the nerd, but I am a nerd. Wasps do pollinate, they are very significant pollinators.

5 days ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 3

they're just really big assholes about it

5 days ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

So are the pipe fitters at my work. Come to think of it, you also just stay out of their way and let them work.

5 days ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

I stay out of their way, but I'm also hoping they don't have a bad day and decide to fuck me up just because.
