Remembering 9/11

Hello Imgur. In a few days it will be 9/11.

On the anniversary of this tragedy, I encourage anyone reading this to join me in observing it by spreading kindness. This seems the best way to fight violence and cruelty.

I’ll share what I do each year.

Each year on 9/11 I set aside some money. I’m not a rich man so it’s not a lot, but it’s what I can afford. I spend my evening in drive thrus ordering nothing or ordering a soda and then I pay for my own order and the meal of the person behind me. When I run out of the money I’ve set aside, then I’m done. There are lots of ways you can use money to do nice things for other people, this is just what I do. I offer it just as an idea of the type of thing I mean.

If you would like to do this with me, there are so many things you can do. If you don’t have much in the way of disposable income, you can volunteer also. I realize that many people do this often, and that you don’t need to wait until a special date to do good things. I just choose to specifically go out of my way to be nice to total strangers on this date as a way to observe it.
