The life of a commercial diver in Norway!

This is me. And my name is Jens.

And I work as a commercial diver all along the coast of Norway :)

I finished diving school this summer. This is graduation day, we were all quite hung over ( no one drinks a diver under the table, except perhaps another diver :)

We do all kinds of underwater work, but mainly construction( pipelines, docks etc) and inspections.

We use different equipment depending on the job at hand. We even use the old school helmets for drilling jobs. I personally love this gear, I really feel like an astronaut in it :)

A nother upside is that I get to go on some seriously cool boats. This one is a speedboat of sorts. It's the same kind as the rescue service use.

But the best part is the nature you get to see. This is a view of Svolvær in the Lofoten Islands.
If you're ever coming to Norway, Lofoten is an absolute must see!

I'm a skier, and love the snow capped mountains you get when winter rolls in.

But it gets pretty cold at times...

I get to work with some fantastic people. Especially crazy eyes here :)

And fly all along the country, to some spectacular places!

So to sum it up, I left a job in a (nicely heated) office to be able to be cold and wet full time. And it's the best decision I ever made :)

Ps. this is an old atmospheric dive suit. Never tried it, but I think it's pretty neat.
