They are nothing if not thorough

If there's a will, there's a way.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Lady, there's a sweeper tool RIGHT THERE.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

There is running water there, why do this by hand ?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It might be flowing too slowly, or be too inconsistent.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'd guess not enough current in it to work well.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

possibly, but then you build a side-channel+dam and use the height, not the current.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Why!????

Twice at the very least.

Just think, to get a wheel to fit that, you'd have to roll on its on for like years

Rock n roll mama ..sell me ur brick

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Looks like a grueling grind of a job.

8 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 3

The early Roman way of doing it was to carve a rock like and hour glass and spin a stick in the center, the flour fell out the bottom. Easy.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

First saw this on the Flintstones.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So real question: Is it actually corn? Since corn is Continental American (Mainly North American crop). Is it rice grinding? Super curious.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

That's where the difference between maize (American corn) and grain (British corn) comes in. This is most certainly the latter.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

That's a fair point. Didn't know the Brits called grain corn!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

that surely doesn't mean people don't grow and eat corn elsewhere, does it?

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

No, but it's not that common. It's mostly used for feed or for sale on the cobb.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If it's American corn: Pretty much yeah. As far as I'm aware (And I travel a lot), Corn is a product that's stayed mostly regional.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

There are breeds of maize that are common in Central and South-Western Europe, but those have evolved very differently from American corn.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Nah, it made the trips back. There were problems, though, as people new to it didn't know about nixtamalization and it led to malnutrition.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Interesting. China is the #2 producer of Maize in the world. TIL.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's still amazes me that humans figures this out. Simple, but such wow

8 years ago | Likes 91 Dislikes 1

Its funny that we invented the wheel to make better pottery, other uses were thought up later. We just love pottery too damn much

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Laziness has been driving innovation since the dawn of humanity.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Big stone crushes things. Bigger stone crushes things faster. Easier to roll than lift. Put wood axle through it. Attach to water wheel. Fin

8 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 0

It is really easy to figure it out when you see it, inventing it would be a whole another thing

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

As someone who works at an 18th century mill, you glossed over a bit...

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Before the age of smartphones came, people waste their time innovating and inventing, fueling their imagination with useful ideas.

8 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 7

no they didn't lmao

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 2

they just watched tv or read shitty novels

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 2

dude this is more like the 90s im suggesting more like 1800's or iceage

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

that's a fairly broad period, but i can assure you that the majority of people still just wasted time in-between meals

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Put some jalapeno peppers in the cornbread.

8 years ago | Likes 101 Dislikes 2

no, thats the flavor of her crushed fingers.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Put jalepeno jelly ON the cornbread.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Whatever that means. I just hope it tastes good.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

As a Texan, please stop putting jalepenos in everything

8 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 3

As a Texan, fuck the jalapenos! Put some spicy pork cracklings in the cornbread!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

As a Coloradan moar jalapeno!!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Not just Texans that are tired of that shit. That and stupid overrated siracha sauce. Enough already

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 7

The one thing sriracha has over other sauces is the lack of vinegar. I like that part the best. Want spice, not ass-puckering sour.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

But how will I make my fruit loops spicy?

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

but in cornbread it really is fucking awesome...

8 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 2

As both a Texan who's totally over jalapenos and someone who likes cornbread, jalapeno cornbread is pretty baller.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Its an appropriate use of jalapeno

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Spicy pork cracklings. U will never go back to jalapenos.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I don't do pork... But that sounds good??
