Surprise, I actually had a girl say she wanted me to get on my knees and eat her, and my response, ladies and gentlemen? "Haha I thought you said you were tired." So. Yeah.

#18 too lazy to verify this, but at this point I wouldn't be surprised if it's real.

I'm from the NYC area. That Australian "break dancer" was embarrassing. I've seen guys on cardboard move in ways humans weren't meant to move. This is very sad.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

It was such a thrilling routine that I sincerely hope we never ever attempt to get someone in that event again, because if we do that shit again I’d consider that casus belli for war against us….

#12 Scandinavian here. I realize that this is an attempt at english by looking at some of the words.

#12 what's "fw" is this a misspelling or new slang?

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I’m guessing it means “fine with”

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

“Fuck with”, as in “yeah I fuck with that”. It’s a normally negative phrase used in a positive way, like “no I don’t fuck with drugs” vs “hell yeah I fuck with drugs!”

#1 Imagine every Aussie who can breakdance meeting.her at the airport.

2 years ago | Likes 51 Dislikes 1

They are deperately defending her from the "internet warriors" because they have to. :-)

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

She looks like a fish out of water flopping around on the floor. Not what I remember seeing in the early days of breaking.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

How did this even happen😅
Did they just ask her can you breakdance and she was first in line and said 'yes.

2 years ago | Likes 42 Dislikes 0

As an Aussie.....well, I'm scratching my head too.....

2 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

Apparently Australia delegated the breakdance selection to the ballroom organisation.

2 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Apparently she has a doctorate in breakdancing.

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

You'd think a woman who's studied dance culture would have more respect for it.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Champion of Oceania apparently, pickings are slim out here lol should have got a point for showing up at least.

2 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 2

Given her routine, the only way she should have earned points was for not showing up and sparing everyone…

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

No, they aren't. Like any urban population, there's heaps to choose from (I've seen heaps in melb). Unclear why they weren't chosen.

#34 okay but, sexy times first, eating afterwards.

I don't want to eat a meal and then feel my drinks and food sloshing around in my guts while trying to be sexy. It's just uncomfortable.

Let's normalize sex first, eating second. It just makes more sense.

#13 for real the audio tech who dreamt this scene up must have been a bit scetchy in the head. How do you even come up with such a rhythm?

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

For some reason, whoever made that clip messed with the audio and caused it to bounce between channels. The actual audio is much better: https://youtu.be/nglTPbYIhf0?t=223

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Oh yeah, and the lighting. Jesus wept could I see shit, no, but what textures are lit tells the story.

Yes you can get the same visual experience at home, but never are they going to get the same audio immersion as a theatre ❤️

#22 you can choose the book you swear on

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I would use my marriage certificate. Its about as useful .

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I think it depends on where in the world you are. Just to fuck with people I’d pick a first edition Fellowship of the Ring.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

You can choose in the US, most countries don't make you swear on a book. From the outside it looks like the people in court are LARPing

I would love to see the whole routine but it seems to be scrubbed from the web

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

If the rest of it could be scrubbed too the world would be in a better place. I’m sure the judges wish they could unsee that rubbish.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

I really expected better from imgur https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/olympics/articles/c2dgxp5n3rlo

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 27

There are plenty of times that it’s absolutely great to dance like nobody’s watching. But the first day of a brand new sport at the Olympics is so not one of them. That is an important time to dance like EVERYONE is watching. It’s not like she had never done it or known about it until right before the Olympics like some of the other admirable people who have showed up in the past to do their best. She did her PhD in it and totally should know better.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Uh, it’s not about what she wore lol get real. Olympics are not the place to make a mockery of a sport by trying to do “something different” or “being yourself”.

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Welcome to the internet.

2 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 2

Yup, tons of cyberbullying. Just expected better from this site, nicer comments on other posts about her though, nice to see

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 8

I’m torn on this. On the one hand, the comments about her appearance and age are super gross. And I totally get that she qualified to be there. On the other hand, that was one hell of a routine. Not a single point from any judge. She doesn’t deserve what’s happened, but people are going to have comments about the extremely weird choices she made.

2 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

Fair enough but all I see is someone who has dedicated hours of time and energy into trying to competing at an olympic level and then having trolls bully her. I don't go around belittling and mocking people because their effort doesn't sit well with an expectation. If you bullied someone like that off internet, people would think you're a scumbag. Those making fun of her need to grow up.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The point of the Olympics is to see all the incredibly amazing feats that humans are capable of.
Doing a little choreographed dance instead of breakdancing with flips and headspins, is making a mockery of both the Olympics and breakdancing.
If she actually did amazing feats, she wouldn't have gotten bullied.
I have no sympathy.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

You could not be more wrong. Quoting from the IOC website, the point of the Olympics is "to unite the world in peaceful competition and foster an atmosphere of peace, development, resilience, tolerance and understanding." No one deserves to be bullied for working hard and doing their best. You need to grow up.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

A lot of it is clearly coming from a bad place, but I think some of the cynicism comes from seeing one of the four elements of hip hop - an iconic aspect of black American street culture - in such a sterile, corporatised environment. A white, middle-class Australian performing in a team uniform adds to the jarring nature. RayGun is an academic who studies this, so I'd be fascinated to read anything she writes on the experience. Zero points also makes people question the qualifying process.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That said, I don't think she should be mocked, and I'm not actually saying she's being critiqued on the basis I outlined above. I just think those factors contributed to a perfect storm where people feel justified in joining the dog pile. I didn't want anyone to think I was trying to defend cyberbullying.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Her qualification and selection are both suspect

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

#18 you can fuck right off, you greedy bitch

2 years ago | Likes 137 Dislikes 0

I would like to remind people that ceos' houses are extremely flammable.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Are we going to have to start pirating mice then?

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

In unrelated news, Logitech GHub auto-updated a couple days ago, crashed, wouldn't reopen, and disabled all the extra buttons on my mouse. Took 15 minutes of bullshit forensic work to fix it.

2 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

To save us the forensic work. what was the solution?

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

In my case, files were corrupted during the update. Had to uninstall, find the right program on their site, reinstall. But there were a few other common problems people had, and a couple reddit threads about how to roll back to previous versions.

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Thank you.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The app tech for their incredible mouses are garbage. I’m not a fan of their support at all.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yeah, I literally just want to remap a few buttons, and I have to deal with all this cruft. And it won't properly switch profiles when I open a game, so I have dumb workarounds like telling my game to open my inventory when I hit ctrl-c.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I'm really hoping that's a satire article, and Logitech isn't *really* that clueless...

2 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 1

They where... and they quickly retracted it 6 hours later.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Nope, they ideally want to get there eventually: https://www.theverge.com/2024/8/6/24214857/logitech-subscription-mouse-decoder-podcast-hanneke-faber
Though granted, if they're not stupid they don't make it a subscription, they make it a one time fee per new driver that's required, if it's required.
But I bet it'll be a perpetual subscription and if you don't pay it becomes a paperweight within a month.

2 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 1

It's not. They have officially walked it back as "just an idea", but she did make the argument for a mouse you could keep forever as a subscription model in a recent interview

2 years ago | Likes 37 Dislikes 0

But I can already keep my mouse forever?

2 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

Yes, but you don't pay Logitech for that privilege, so they need to "fix" that problem you see...

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I think their (insane) proposal is that they repair or replace it if/when it breaks or stops functioning properly. All for the low low price of a monthly subscription that totals up to 10x the price of a mouse.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

The idea wasn't explained well enough, but Imagine you pay a subscription and Logitech would keep supplying software updates and fix hardware as long as its a failure instead of you breaking it. So apart from that being obviously stupid for a mouse, they'd probably ask at least the urgent price of a mouse for it on a yearly basis, if not more. Do yeah, stupid beginning gto end

2 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

That's called a warranty, and paying more for that than a a new mouse is absurd

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Computer mouses are so cheap, though. Why wouldn't I just buy a new one?
