SD cards aren't designed for archival purposes, you fill it up use it, then back up, on DATs or optical storage.

Flash disk memory is not as stable long term, as a drive. I dunno if SD is flash though, but I'm sure there are no moving parts.

Naw, SD cards are theoretically functional after ~100 years of heavy use. They just don't retain data for longer than 3-5 years.
