Let's get this bread.

Ovenbird

What if you put the largest and smallest dinosaurs together?

Today is the day of the Emerging Winemakers symposium and I submitted a few of my meads. Last time I did, I won a few medals. I wonder if I will win any today. We'll see, I guess.

This feels very @xbadxfaeriex coded

Pippin tax!

Today's message from Pippin: "Love you. What?"

______
1) Are you on the run to a safe place and passing through Arizona on your way to safer grounds? My apartment is open to you to crash at, and it is a safe space. Pippin and I will make you a meal and gladly share tea, wine, or mead with you.

2) Hey! Take your meds with a full glass of water, please. Do it for Pippin, or Space Mom, or better yet, do it for yourself.

3) Ĝefeloað wē. We will carry on.

4) all funds from the sales of items at these two links will be sent to support charities aiding to fight for Trans rights in the US (not just T-shirts!)

Given the character names Dolph and Harte, likely part of The Last Magician series by Lisa Maxwell.

#21 American Protesters have a bad presumption that the ruling class is capable or even willing to listen to rational criticism and change their actions

4 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

American protesters have engaged in violence against federal officers, started fires, protested in the largest numbers in history, gone to jail, dissapeared, fucking MURDERED and the fucking pathetic get online and create a narrative "its just signs" ignoring all the shit going on everywhere every day and pushing bullshit. Do you ever think that maybe the radicals have been disenfranchised and taken out of the gene pool many times but keep growing back, slowly, no matter what.

#13 got my ex a coffee pod machine, a longtime ago, because I hate coffee and she loved it. It came with a pod called “Kenyan AA” and she told me I had to take a sip - I did so, expecting the horridness of coffee, but it was incredibly pleasant, tasted like blueberries! So I understand that Dunkin guy, because I’ve never found that coffee again (tbh, haven’t looked that hard, lol)

#5 Interesting. In Finnish, what translates directly to "ovenbird", is the willow warbler. The Finnish name for the one in the image would approximately translate to "fire-headed warbler". But all of Phylloscopidae is called "ovenbirds".

If the same name is in use in two languages from different language families, despite that it is for a different but quite related species, it makes me wonder what it refers to.

#14 No one in human history has ever defined women as "the sex class that produces large gametes". JKR thinks she's being oh so clever, but she's only proving that you cannot change the definition of "woman" to exclude trans women without also excluding intersex women and even certain women with XX chromosomes. For starters, postmenopausal women stop producing "large gametes". And there are medical conditions such as primary ovarian Insufficiency that prevent the production of ova. Some women …

4 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

are born without ovaries (a condition known as ovarian dysgenesis) and require HRT – gender-affirming therapy – to go through puberty. No biologist or medical professional would ever dispute that these individuals are nonetheless women. There are even young women with functional ovaries who stop producing ova due to extreme stress, very low body weight, or excessive exercise. Tl;dr, it's insulting to try and reduce womanhood to the ability to produce ova. People are more than gamete factories.

#22 Fun fact! Flooded cranberry bogs are absolutely *haunted* with spiders looking for anything dry to grab on to above the water line.

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This was the only thing I could think of when I saw that picture. I’m not so sure it’s a *fun* fact, but it most certainly is a fact……

#22 ah, but the spiders though

Thats what I came to the comments for, thank you. Looks so appealing but.. the spiders though.
