I got good news for you - headache issues should be fixed in nowadays 3D films. Studios nowadays hire stereographers who remove headache +

3D films used to have loads of image errors that caused these headaches. Nowadays they are mostly fixed - many people avoid 3D for nothing.

If it's a 2D film, filmmakers intented it to be seen as 2D. Proper 3D films have different rules that they have to obey at cinematography.

The vast majority of '3D movies' are not shot in 3D, and have an artist draw a depth map in post. Shot in 3D is another story.

3D has come a long way, they learned not to overdo it, just a tiny bit of 3D effect so your eyes don't get strained.

Our imax has a set of 3D glasses that fit over my normal glasses. It was really nice, but 3D still isn't worth it for me.

Conversion is ok if they shot the film as 3D in mind. Mad Max 3D was done in this way. Possibly the best 3D I've seen at cinemas.
