DONT stop and get out of your vehicle in the middle of the highway when its still able to pull over to the side of the road!

Well no wonder she got into an accident - she was steering from the passenger's seat!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Why do people think lorries can stop on a dime??

I swear there's a muppet that comes out with her at the very end

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

This film's significantly sped up, but it doesn't show the idiot standing there on her phone for nearly 5 minutes afterwards.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

So full of win.

Husband is a truck driver and this shit happens all the time. People assume large transport trucks can stop on a dime.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

And do not stay in car. Moving out on the highway is suicide.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 3

Why would you not stay in the car if the highway is suicide. I'm getting conflicting instructions here

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

*"And she does not stay in the car... Moving out on the highway is suicide."*

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Seems like a logical place to get out of the car exchange credentials.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Does anyone saying that the truck driver was going too fast notice the cars to the right of him keeping pace? He's not speeding.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Huh? He's overtaking the black car on the far right and switching lanes when he starts closing in on the car in front of them.

Would like people to take a drivers test every 10 years or so

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

10?! Less than that. I got 100% in every driving test I have ever done. And only 7 years later found myself picking up bad habits and 1/2

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Have had laws changed without even realising. Would be good to do a refresher every 5 years I think.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I am up for fewer years. Though, here in Scandinavia people are generally very well tested and controlled !

The M4 in all its glory.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Hahahha I was thinking this! Fucking M4 and M5. Banes of existence

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Is it? The driver's accent was definitely Australian. Is there an Australian M4? There probably is. Ignore me...

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yes there is an Australian M4. Main motorway west from the Parramatta Road, Sydney out to Penrith and further west.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Cool. I live quite near the M4 in England, and I avoid it at all fucking costs.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Probably freaking out a bit and not thinking clearly.

No idea why people stop in the middle after a moderate crash, I would get my car to the side of the road and then get over the barrier.

She always said she wanted to fly

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 74 Dislikes 0

I was just waiting for that door to fly off.

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Certainly a good way to die what with all those high speed vehicles. At least pull off into the closest layby.

8 years ago | Likes 46 Dislikes 0

Not like we'd come out at a loss there.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Nah, it saves dealing with insurance companies.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

The closest layby? You mean the one that's RIGHT FUCKING THERE! Stupid does not come close to covering this woman.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I've always been told to get the fuck out of the car and off the road. Trucks can't stop quickly and them rolling over your car will kill.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

She took way too long for her to be thinking about that

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Get the car over to the right shoulder ASAP.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

True, sometimes the car won't let you (I don't know near nough bout cars to guess if hers would be able to drive, though I'd guess yes).

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

'Right' as in correct, right?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Whatever side you drive on, right for two thirds of the world, left for the British Empire.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Unpopular opinion but I think the truck? driver is the one who fucked up. They are blasting past traffic straight into a merging lane. Any..

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 31

I agree. Check mirror, lanes clear. Start changing lanes then BAM. Truck. Maybe its the dashcam but it looks like the driver is speeding.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 8

If merging, it is the responsibility of the one merging to complete the merge safely. This is an example of stupidity.

8 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

Looks like less than 10mph speed difference and he's only going 57mph. He also isn't in the merging lane, he is one over from it.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

It definitely wasn't the truck driver, she pulled right out in front of him and lorries need much more stopping room. Totally her fault.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Technically if you rear end someone it's your fault. But she made it pretty much impossible not to hit her.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Nope. He’s going under 60 mph, she goes a lane farther than she needs to, and most importantly, merging vehicles yield to people on the road

8 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 0

, NOT the other way around. You can say the truck was rude or whatever but she is legally 100% at fault.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

I'd say he's doing approximately 91-93 km/h

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Under 60 is irrelevant. He was clearly going faster than the flow around him. She was well into the lane and didn't cut in suddenly. Any...

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 15

This film is sped up mate. You're wrong. Deal with it.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Officer would find him at fault. Drivers are responsible for maintaining a safe stopping speed and distance from the car ahead.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 15

She did jump out in front of him and braked hard twice. Never brake when merging; maintain speed or accelerate. Why'd she backup into him?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It wasn't ahead, it fucking pulled out sharply in front of him you fucking cretin.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

She changed lanes w/o looking. He wasn’t in the merging lane. Her insurance will try to pin some of fault on him but thanks to the dash cam.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Merging lane is to the left of the truck. She went into the merging lane and then into the next lane over.

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

Actually. I'm going to retract. I think the lens is a fish eye out something. So I'm not 100%, but looks to me like they continue to merge.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

Follow that lane you are looking at and you will notice it merges as well. You can see the other cars passing on the left merging in.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

No it doesn’t. You can see a red car in that lane that doesn’t merge and it gets passed by a whit car in the lane the accident happened in.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Reasonable person would slow down or avoid the merging lane. I do the same when cars are merging from the right on US roads. As for...

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 6

The car driver stopping and getting out. It was dumb but that was a HARD hit. I wouldn't be surprised if they are dazed and confused.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 4

If you slow down to let cars onto the highway in the US, then you are an idiot. Move over if you can, but dont impede traffice ffs.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

A thousand times this! People stand on a fucking motorway to argue. Get as far off the damn road as possible before the next idiot arrives.

8 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Or, worse and more likely, some cop has to protect her dumbass from oncoming traffic and gets creamed by traffic.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

How fast is the guy with the camera going?

8 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 0

92kph / 57mph at impact*, gps data at the bottom of screen (*although GPS usually has a bit of a lag)

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Not as fast as it looks. This film's considerably sped up.

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

Every time something like this is posted people bend over backwards to blame the truck, it's a 100km freeway, he is under the speed limit 1/

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 3

overtaking from the inside lane is not illegal in Australia because we're not retarded 2/2

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 4

I was just wondering how fast the truck was going.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah accidentally replied to you rather than a few sub comments, sorry!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

bottom of gif says 92kph when they first hit. about 57 mph.

8 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

Gif is sped up, the truck was driving at a perfectly reasonable speed. And the women driving was black.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 24

Uh... no, she's not.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Doesn't matter if the gif was sped up. He was still clearly going tons faster than everyone else. & who cares about her color??

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 6

*woman. And she was Asian, though I don't see what difference that makes?

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Ty for letting us know, cause his speed was my 1st thought.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I need to get a dashcam ASAP.

8 years ago | Likes 938 Dislikes 10

I'm thinking of getting one. I was just rear ended a couple weeks ago. Hard to prove fault of it hadn't been a rear ending

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Got a cheap one from a website named after a rainforest. Works perfectly.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Same here, $50 + price of a micro flashcard, everything you need to install, pairs to phone named after an apple. Cool videos, no accidents

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yes you do. I have front and rear facing, GPS enabled. No questions.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I keep telling myself this!!!!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I just use my phone and the free apps they work just like a dashcam and even record in the background so you can use nav apps

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Got a “Dod” brand ($~150). Resolution is great in both day and night I recommend

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I have a Falcon Zero. It’s awesome. I have mine hardwired into the car so it’s always on.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

We just hook up our GoPro facing forward. Maybe we’ll get a rear view dash cam though just in case.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Pruveeo. 36 bucks on amazon. 720p. Will put out its own wifi so you can connect with a cell phone and download a recording.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

GET A GOOD ONE! I bought the $8 "me love you long time" special... you cannot read plate numbers and I just threw it away due to quality.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yea, I agree especially with all the driving I do. You never know when you’ll need it.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This is exactly why I got one too...all the gifs on imgur scarred me into buy them for every single car in my household.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Get a rear dash cam too

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It sounds like you mean "in case of accidents" but we know you really mean "for all those Fake Internet Points on Imgur".

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 4

Of course.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Get a good one with a rear camera too. Your insurance company and lawyer will thank you

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I have a VAVA dash cam. Rather nice.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Remember, you don't need a dashcam after you've had an accident as if that proves you need one, you need to get one BEFORE any incident.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Accident doesn't imply no one is to blame. It means it wasn't on purpose. It's still someone's fault.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Are you implying that the film Hot Fuzz wasn't 100% realistic?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

People in charge of actual emergency response say the same idiotic thing. They changed "accident" to "crash". Source: I am Firefighter/EMT.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

In Spain they are banned. Yes. Seriously. Our politicians are really stupid.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

its a cheap investement. Do it. Worth. So worth.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Haven't regretted yet, thank God I haven't needed it yet either

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

10 bucks for cam, 10 for sd card, hop to it @op

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Those $10 cams suck... I have several of them. You cannot read license plates, unless you are within 10 feet of the other plate, the 1/2

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Bummer. I was already counting my cents.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

video quality is poor, they lack the loop back function. I'm not saying buy a $600 camera, just don't buy the $10 pieces of crap. 2/2

8 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 0

Even with a dashcam I'd turn into her.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

near...far...whereeever you ar...dude seriously you're way too close

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Do u even need video if ur rearended. No matter wat its the persons fault.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 7

Sometimes, people will deliberately brake hard and blame a car that pulled out in front of them. Of course, the mystery car is never found

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Could try and argue that you backed into them.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Ironically the video proved the first car hit the second car, then hit my wife’s car. Just by sound of the first collision.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Not true. Many states have NO FAULT law.. when someone rear ended my car a certain % was my fault.. basically just for being there. 1.2

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

When my parked car was totaled by a drunk driver a % was still my fault for being parked on the street.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

But this gif just showed that it's not?

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

I mean the person carelessly changed lanes. I mean if u were in one lane and reareneded someone its always ur fault

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Allegedly in some areas (unless this was changed recently) it's automatically the rear-ender's fault, doesn't matter circumstance.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Not if you can prove that you got brake checked.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Saved my ass multiple times.. get a good one

8 years ago | Likes 90 Dislikes 3

I read a xiaomi dash cam was a good option. Gotta start the research.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I used my cellphone with a cloud app on my motorcycle. Saved me on insurance because of it.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Discount or catching a not at fault incident?

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Not at fault. I pulled up on a red light it turned green and the other guy ran a red hitting my front tire. Knocking my bike out from under.

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Ahh gotcha. I am surprised insurance companies don't have discounts for functioning dash cams.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

What's your recommendation?

8 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

I just bought a Rexing for the GF's new car. It's doing great. I have a cheaper knockoff of it in my personal rig, but the Rexing is good

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I recommend the mini, I have a 0805 but there are newer models, and the Viofo 119. Both around 100 dollar with good reliability.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I have the Yi 2.7, its really good for the price ($50). it can record in 2304x1296 30fps or 1080p at 60fps. the image quality is good too.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

does it go over old video? need a SD card?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yes you need an SD card, a 32gb gets like 4 hours or so. It will overwrite the oldest recording when it fills.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Something that records at least 720p best is 1080p also one that will record over old video is nice to have, wide lens and good night vision

8 years ago | Likes 33 Dislikes 0

Record over old video?

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Saves space, you only really need the dash cam to record accidents to show you're not at fault. So recording over saves space in the memory.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I assume so you’re not storing video of you just driving around.

8 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

Message me if you have any questions. I’ve done lots of research into them. I have a similar model to the one in the video and I love it!

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

My parents got me one for Christmas, but as an attorney I wouldn't want proof that *I* f-ed up, in the event it was me. Tough choice.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My dashcam records audio of me being not in the right state of mind on the way to and from work. Every lawyer's dream.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Luckily you are not legally required to self incriminate.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Most dashcams use a micro SD memory card. People swallow the strangest things.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

yes, but my cam also saves a short clip to phone after it detects a g-shock. (right before and after, ~10 seconds)

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Funny. I just saw a video of a guy swallowing his driving licence to avoid an infraction? the hell.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0
