I remember a video of him doing "Starman" at the end of some British variety show with an actress who played a school girl. Ring any bells?

Thank you. Loved all of this post so much. His last album made me think he had a lot more in that beautiful mind of his that we will never get to experience.
Earlier today, I was recalling his cameo on the NIN tapes when he said “God thinks he’s all that and a bag of chips.”
If there is a god I bet he laughed!

Can we all agree that #5 ends too soon …? Just a little …?

Absolutely love him. I remember seeing Labyrinth for the first time when I was 8. My friends’ parents had rented it for their birthday party, and all the other kids were off playing with the new toys. I was rapt. I’d never seen anything like him.

Not strictly Bowie-related, but just yesterday I had a moment when I was cleaning out the clutter in my kitchen and was reminded of the Junk Lady, piling possessions and distractions onto Sarah to make her forget her purpose. Throw it away. Save Toby.

Bowie and Cohen were the only 2 artists I got sad about their passing. Cohen was my neighbor in Montreal. Fittingly hos Montreal apartment was on Marieanne street. When he passed there was a vigil and the street sign was renamed to So Long Marianne. People left tea and oranges at his door.

I read oranges as organs and was picturing jarred body parts O.o

I feel like jarred body parts would have been more of a Bowie thing !)

It feels like the wrong Jenga piece was pulled from our timeline, and we're wobbling precariously

I seem to remember there was a theory that all the goblins were previously kidnapped babies whose siblings didn’t get them back

I just always thought that as fact

January 2016 was awful. David Bowie, Alan Rickman, Glen Frey, my oldest sister. I'll always look back on it in horror.

I like to imagine that Bowie showed up every day of filming for labyrinth and never spent a minute in the hair, makeup, or costume department. He just showed up ready to go

"Never play to the gallery." My two main guiding principles as an artist come from this Bowie interview. I balled like a baby when he died.

Dacid Bowie looked at the world and started an ISP because he saw the future.

Today's political climate in the U.S. certainly makes some people in the world afraid of Americans. :(

I too, am afraid of Americans

I'm a big fan of Bowie. I got to see him in Niagara Falls in 1990 with my wife and brother Row 24. There was no opening act and the front rows were still empty close to the beginning of the show so we walked up to get a fantasy look at what it would be like to sit in the front row. We stood by a protrusion of the stage and asked security if people could touch Bowie. He said yes and encouraged it. We were allowed to stay there until about 5 songs in. I got to touch Bowie's calf and hand.

That is a WILD story! I'm trying to think of what he would have been touring on at that time... So exciting, regardless! I got to see him in like 95/96 when he was touring with nine inch nails. I wasnt ready for him then, but I've since found a much bigger appreciation.

I think I read somewhere that they were in talks to make a sequel. Last I read, it was still rather nebulous though, and definitely not a sure thing. I for one hope they won't do it, because Labyrinth without Bowie just wouldn't be right.

You know they'll try to get Bill Skarsgard (so hot right now!) but look up Michael C. Hall singing Bowie covers - he could do a hell of an older Jareth homage.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Noooo! Can’t they just leave a great movie alone?

As of what I've read their is no sequel in the works

Prequel was in the works I believe.

Yes. He was the creepiest goblin king there could be.

Not scary (though that too): Creepy.
