Glad they postponed the game. I've never seen NFL players look so shook before. They definitely were in no emotional state to keep playing

3 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Well that's scary

3 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Hope he and Jeremy Renner get better and RIP to Ken Block.

3 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Screw the game, I just hope he's OK. Parents were in the stands, too.

3 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Wasn't following the game that close and looked up to see that it was suspended. Now I know why.

3 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

ESPN says he's in critical condition at the hospital. Means he made it there alive. Shit sucks

3 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 2

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Didn't take long for the smooth brains to start yelling it was because he was vaccinated.

3 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 5

It was a horrifying thing to watch. Thoughts and good vibes out for him and his family, I hope he can pull through.

3 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

year 2023 and people still saying "thoughts and good vibes" ? yes, your thoughts will cure cancer.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Took four minutes to get an ambulance on the field. Seems like poor planning

3 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 2

His charity GoFundMe page is blowing up. Give it a looksee. https://www.gofundme.com/f/mxksc-the-chasing-ms-foundation-community-toy-drive

Holy hell. It was at 600+K when I found it. After posting the comment its over 730k.

3 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

Its almost at a million and a quarter.

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Is he not making an NFL player salary?

3 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 17

Just click the link ya dink.

3 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 2

Raises money for children

3 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 2

Seen this happen twice in football(soccer) matches. Fabrice Muamba whilst playing for Bolton Wanderers and Christian Erikson for Denmark. 1/

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Both players thankfully survived, Erikson even started playing again, though Muamba had to retire. I hope Hamlin is going to be ok, 2/

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

as he got medical help immediately, with luck he will pull through. Muamba was medically dead for an hour, so there is hope. 3/

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I keep thinking about how he’s only 24. That’s my daughter’s age.

3 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

My guess is that the hit interrupted his heartbeat and was sent into CA.

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Honestly, the medical staff were on point during this.

3 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

probably why hes alive, lots of high school level play would likely end differently. but at an NFL game they have staff meds and EMTs.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

poke around a stadium on gameday they always have a few ambulances around just in case there is a medical emergency.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I was reading the YouTube comments, before I remembered why I don't read YT comments - idiots claiming it's bc of the "Fauci Ouchie." FFS.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They'd make that claim if a train hit him.

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Weird how they never worries about what the actual corona virus can do to your heart.

3 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Like cause enough damage to make an apparently healthy 24 year old collapse with no warning?

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Pretty sure these people have blamed the vaccines for every death short of a gunwound since the day they came out

3 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

if they could cook up a conspiracy way the vaccine creates random flying bullets they would blame em for that too.

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

THE 5G SIGNAL FROM THE VAX MAKES YOU MAGNETIC! I wish /s wasn't necessary...

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Look on the bright side: Those people have higher infection and death rates.

3 years ago | Likes 50 Dislikes 3

Look on the even brighter side: invectermicin increases infertility, as does getting COVID without mitigation (vaccination).

3 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 2

Makes me smile tp see how small the margins were in republican losses during the midterms and knowing its because they killed their base.

3 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Fucking morbid outlook i know but they were fucking idiots.

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

The gen Z turnout wasn't enough on its own

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah, wasn’t that around 36%?

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Genz was helpful but if they hadnt effectively killed their base they may have swung differently l.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Watched a youtube video on this and wish I didn't read the comments. People are saying it was because of Covid vaccine..

3 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 3

...one guy even said he deserves it for getting the vaccine

3 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 2

Jfc those people are a special kind of stupid.

3 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 3

WTF is going on today. Jeremy Renner, Ken Block, now the NFL…

3 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 2

Some Final Destination shit I tell ya.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Some idiot somewhere said “2023 is going to be my year!” and 2023 is having none of it. On a serious note though, lots of sad news.

3 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Jeremiah Green died too :(

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED TO KEN BLOCK

3 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Flipped a snowmobile on top of himself fatally.

3 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

First Schumacher, now this? What is it with "playing in the snow" being so dangerous for racing drivers?

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

they want to go fast but Physics and Snow is not having any of that? Also dont forget Jeremy Renner

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Terrible. I’m pretty sure he died. They wont show the replay anymore and his teammates were openly weeping. They usually only administer 1/

Sorry, not trusting 'Caleb' at this point

3 years ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 0

Caleb is prolly solid but I dunno his wife’s boyfriend is totes reliable

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Linked article says he’s in critical condition at the hospital

3 years ago | Likes 42 Dislikes 0

Went to UC Medical, the areas L1 trauma center. Afaik L1 is the worst level to have to go to for an injury.

3 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

L1 is top trauma. If you have no chance, they bring you to the nearest hospital, not the top one.

3 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I suspect he “died” in the sense of having no vitals for a while.

3 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

CPR if there is no pulse. 2/2

3 years ago | Likes 56 Dislikes 7

They said they were giving him oxygen in the ambulance. So they could have gotten his heart going again

3 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

Bingo. Right up there with the paddles, it's what you do when someone is already gone but you have to make it look like you tired

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 7

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well if there was any chance for him, he'll live. Unless you are in a hospital with a doctor at your side there's no one that has had a

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

quicker response from top professionals. Most ppl don't have high level drs and EMTs seconds away from them when such an incident occurs

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I sincerely hope you are wrong here, but I'm forced to agree. Local news says he has a pulse but not breathing on own. AED was used.

3 years ago | Likes 33 Dislikes 1

He may have suffered a hypoxic brain injury. That's what killed my husband. He died November 4th at the age of 37.

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I'm so sorry

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

They can use a defibrillator to restart the heart...

3 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 11

Not really. TV has sold that almost entirely wrong to people. Defib's mostly STOP the heart, hoping an erratic/too fast heart will reset 1

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

or that CPR can be used to restart the heart- though they often have to defib after that, as it'll be restarting in an odd state. 2

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They restarted my husband's heart after he arrested in November. He died anyway. It took too long. Hypoxic brain injury.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I am very sorry for your loss

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Defibrillation does not work when the heart is in asystole. Only CPR will do anything. Defib corrects arrhythmia.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Renner(?) then Block now Hamlin(?). Jfc

3 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Next they're gonna tell us somebody blew Keanu Reeves' head off.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 4

This is tragic. ? entertainment isn’t supposed to end like this.

3 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 2

Maybe don’t watch blood sports for entertainment?

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 3

Entertainment with a known and infamous high risk of permanent injury to those that play it. It might be time to finally end this shit.

3 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 9

Precisely. Start with schools.

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

It should be banned for anyone under a certain age, let's be real.

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

I say it should not ever be funded with tax dollars, so not in public schools. We got the program cancelled at my kid’s private school.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I know a ban sounds harsh, but kid brains are already sensitive, and Football has enormous brain damage risks. They can play other shit.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

It is a pretty violent sport, though

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Just saw a tweet from his agent, he has a breathing tube and is stable at the moment. ?

3 years ago | Likes 58 Dislikes 2

Well that is better news than my worst fear. I have been knocked out several times and damn that is scary shit for parents and granparents.

Nothing official, but sounds a lot like this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Commotio_cordis

3 years ago | Likes 148 Dislikes 5

I'm half asleep but did I read that right? That CPR could have actually made it worse? That's terrifying

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Hokuto shinken

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The right-wing anti-vax ghouls are already out in force telling everyone it was caused by the Covid vaccine.

3 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 6

Why are you amplifying their bullshit then?

3 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 4

In college a friend open ice checked a guy on the ice and he had to be revived as well. he was on the ice with no pulse, luckily he survived

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Having seen the video and that delay, I would not surprised at all.

3 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

it's not typically so fast - this is like brain aneurysm area where he went out so quick.

3 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 8

Commotion cordis drops you like a sack of rocks.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It puts you basically into VFIB I think, so yeah, you will drop like a rock.

3 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

From what I understand it usually is that fast. Instant arythmia so you’re down pretty fast. It is treatable with quick defib and CPR tho.

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Sounds good, but last I heard his heart was beating fine, but he couldn’t breathe on his own. That makes me think more brain related. The 1/

3 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 2

2/ way it sounded is that CPR wasn’t started very quickly, so maybe heart, then hypoxic brain damage, and restarted heart too late.

3 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 2

Shut up… you have no idea what you’re writing about.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 18

There are press releases stating the very thing they said.....

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I sure hope that’s the case.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That was scary. He just dropped.

3 years ago | Likes 498 Dislikes 3

Oof

3 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 6

It was weird how he popped up like it was nothing and then just... dropped

3 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Just to explain how terrible FIFA is, when a similar thing happened to Christian Eriksen they forced a game to continue. He survived.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah, it was nuts

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Craziest thing to watch

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

It's like Christian Erickson back from the Eurocup

3 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

and Fabrice Muamba of Bolton Wanderers in 2012.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Thank you! What's funny to me is he's the one that delivered the hit.

3 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 31

Yeah I'm gonna try to give you the benefit of the doubt on your use of the word 'funny'. Otherwise you're probably a psychopath

3 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 5

Funny in this usage means strange, weird, odd, etc.

3 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

It looks like he was the one hit in the video.

3 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

He wrapped up the receiver and took him down. I heard a report that the impact at the exact wrong time could've stopped his heart?

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Commotio cordis is being tossed around a lot by arm chair doctors on social media

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

He was the one going after the ball carrier and tacked him. The other guy, ball carrier, lowered their head and shoulder into him at contact

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

So it was 2 guys hitting each other, but the guy that was hurt was the pursuer. Don't get how 'it's funny' in any fucking way to the person

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

you responded to

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

Think I just saw someone die on national TV. They do not do CPR on someone who has a pulse.

3 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 4

You do CPR on anyone not breathing. Pulse included.

3 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

CPR does work sometimes, though. Especially if it's Commotio Cordis like people suspect.

3 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Latest says he has a pulse, but not breathing on his own and intubated.

3 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 1

He is young and fit and so we will hope for the best.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

https://youtu.be/r1Z9Vd53yhI just crazy

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

No longer available? Not sure what you linked

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The hit, but I still see it

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I had to sign in and confirm my age- that’s why it wasn’t rendering.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Almost lost my kid a week ago, flat lined twice in ICU. He’s just three years older than this kid. Prayers for his full recovery & his mom.

3 years ago | Likes 43 Dislikes 2

I really hope your kid is doing better. I work in the ICU & have a kiddo learning to drive. I can't imagine how hard that was for u!

3 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

3 states away, had the flu, & tried so hard not to panic. THANK YOU because you saved somebody’s baby. Not mine, but they’re all someone’s

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Mine is good, making a recovery and just returned to work. He’s waiting to go back to gym routines and other extras. He got a send chance.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Yeah, wasn’t even a weird hit. Made the tackle, got up, went right back down. Hank Gaithers vibes.

3 years ago | Likes 224 Dislikes 2

He had a heart attack

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Exact comparison I explained to my wife. I remember that.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's the unassuming hits that can get you.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

there is a thing where a blow directly above the heart can screw up the electrical impulses..apparently he is now in recovery at hospital

3 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Yeah, they make youth league pitchers wear a pad right over the heart because line drives can do that.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Watching the replay on Twitter, He took a helmet square to the chest, ?

3 years ago | Likes 65 Dislikes 0

Yah he took a hard hit on the left side of the chest at high speed :/ scary scary stuff

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Oh that's not good.

3 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 0

I wonder if he ruptured his aorta or something.

3 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 2

Commotio cordis. Heart stopped from blunt trauma probably. Aortic rupture takes much more force.

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

They used an AED in him so I assume not
