Sadly the account that posted this was just a repost account that posts alot of other ppl's cosplays that are cool and interesting and they did not provide credit.
Grading is when you have the original raw image and you apply contrast, saturation, colors and other parameters to make the final image more in line with your vision.
Ah, that's the slight greyscale effect on the stills. I thought it looked pretty good. Helps it stand apart from the video a little. I can certainly see it being something you wouldnt want if you had a colorful costume, but with a b/w one it seems appropriate.
Funnily enough, the creator Rei Hiroe, has praised the anime for some of creative changes from the Manga, including the English voices; since most the characters are actually american. To each their own, I suppose.
I'll only watch dubs of stuff i watched in the early 2000s anime wave. But the danish dub, not english (felt like clarifying since people usually assume english dubs)
Black Lagoon is one of those anime that I would recommend to anime first timers or even people who don't like anime, along with Cowboy Bebop, FMA and maybe Jormungand. Jormungand I always felt like it could happen in the same universe as Black Lagoon.
We started hating anime more because all y'all think there's the one magical anime we're going to be immune to and enjoy, and you continually recommend something instead of accepting we don't have to watch or like the same shit you do.
You would think that but as far as I know and can see, they're not. Jormungand's creator is Keitaro Takahashi and the anime was by White Fox. Black Lagoon was created by Rei Hiroe and the anime was done by MadHouse. They were both published in the same company though, Shogakukan.
I think the best rule of thumb for Black Lagoon is when your children are old enough to watch Pulp Fiction or Once Upon a Time in Mexico. It's about there in terms of subject matter and tone
As other commenters said, Black Lagoon is definitely a no for kids. If you liked AtLA, you/they might like The Dragon Prince, by the same showrunners on Netflix. If you wanted an actual anime, keep in mind that, generally speaking, Japanese media show more blood/violence in their children's media than we do in the US, so make sure to do a little digging on any you go for beforehand if that bothers you. That said, I'll add some recs in a subsequent comment
1. Most Miyazaki films are solid choices, especially Totoro, Spirited Away, Secret World of Arietty, and Howl's Moving Castle 2. Little Witch Academia is solid, fun, and cutesy with some drama, fighting and adventure but little/no blood 3. My Hero Academia is big right now and wrapping up soon, but characters do die onscreen and the fighting gets more serious/violent as the series nears its end 4. The original Dragon Ball is pretty fun, if a bit dated
TsubakiTragic
This is brilliant, and I doubt the images are from a cell phone.

Holy shit. Respect to the photographer and the cosplayer, those are some badass shots.

When I win the lottery I'm going to fund a live action Black Lagoon movie with Quintin Tarantino directing.
TheBigBadBonerBiter
I need to go back and watch this one. I haven't seen it in over a decade. Same for Samurai Champloo.
Legrooveth
I had no idea it was so good when Netflix spent years pushing it and now it's disappeared, sucks
Carrera26
I can only hope that arguably the best rock band in Japan, Band-maid, does the intro music.
captincorpse
As amazing as that would be, it is too old for Band-Maid. Black Lagoon is from 2006
Carrera26
Ah, fair.
Clayman8
I watched it far too late, and regret doing so. It was awesome and not a single filler bullshit episode in it.

RoombaTheAssaultVacuum
Fantastic anime but one of the worst dubs I've heard. I normally watch anime dubbed but I had to watch it in Japanese with subs.
Desucaker
Funnily enough, the creator Rei Hiroe, has praised the anime for some of creative changes from the Manga, including the English voices; since most the characters are actually american. To each their own, I suppose.
datphone777365
Mnah i liked the dubs.
NSFWfrontpage2
That's interesting, I'm a sub purist myself but ppl always mention Black Lagoon as an example of when the dub is better than the sub.
Sensiblyinteresting
Yeah, idk what this person is talking about, dub was great. Same for Overlord the sub is great but the Dub VA for Ainz is just incredible
RoombaTheAssaultVacuum
Overlord has a fantastic VA. A LOT of dubs are hood but I legitimately do not believe Black Lagoon's dubs were good.
TellusEidolon
I'll only watch dubs of stuff i watched in the early 2000s anime wave. But the danish dub, not english (felt like clarifying since people usually assume english dubs)
RoombaTheAssaultVacuum
A lot of anime does have good dubs, especially more recent anime.
eathotdog
Weeb take
TsubakiTragic
helpful advice: never watch dubs, that is all.
RoombaTheAssaultVacuum
Most dubs are adequate, to even good. There're some Japanese dubs that are really low quality too. Ultimately it comes down to preference.
Badgerbadgerson3
Roberta is a fucking demon and one of my biggest animals crushes. Same with Revy. And Balalaika(?)
iceynyo
What about serval?
Youhavinagiraffe
Is that a funny typo or is she also secretly an animal hybrid as well as being a maid and an assassin? If so I am guaranteed to watch it
Badgerbadgerson3
Typo...though.....Yeen Roberta...off to do research!!
Badgerbadgerson3
I return to regretfully say there is no anthro art of Roberta. There IS a caracal Revy, though.
alcaray
And that crazy Chinese (I think, from memory?) assassin with the rope knives.

PorterPickUp
Balalaika is absolutely the worst in a sea of terrible people. Damn near Satan itself
Irrevenant
She's super hot though.

Yeah the 6 inch facial scar and cigar breath really pulls it altogether. Plus all the murder
Badgerbadgerson3
Exactly! Glad someone else gets it.
lddiaz
I am not an anime guy, but Black Lagoon was absolutely fantastic.
darkhalfbreed
Black lagoon is the anime for people who like Robert Rodriguez and Tarentino movies more than anime.
celestedrake
I am an anime person, and I agree.
Radix865
Black Lagoon is one of those anime that I would recommend to anime first timers or even people who don't like anime, along with Cowboy Bebop, FMA and maybe Jormungand. Jormungand I always felt like it could happen in the same universe as Black Lagoon.
datphone777365
Those two are an easy collab but i dunno how the body count would end up being... Gits is an other 1st timer suggestion from me
stygimoIoch
We started hating anime more because all y'all think there's the one magical anime we're going to be immune to and enjoy, and you continually recommend something instead of accepting we don't have to watch or like the same shit you do.
stygimoIoch
Downvote me, weebs. You felt called out.
CanOnlySayYes
Jormungand and Black Lagoon were actually made by the same people. I wish there was more anime like these 2
Radix865
You would think that but as far as I know and can see, they're not. Jormungand's creator is Keitaro Takahashi and the anime was by White Fox. Black Lagoon was created by Rei Hiroe and the anime was done by MadHouse. They were both published in the same company though, Shogakukan.
CanOnlySayYes
Ah sht maybe that’s what it is. I could’ve sworn someone said it was about the creators, I should’ve verified it.
Durtschi
How kid friendly is Black lagoon? I need another show to watch with my kiddos. We thoroughly enjoyed Avatar The last Airbender.
lddiaz
Incestuous, serial killing, 11 year old twins that play with their victims gore. I am not exaggerating.
NCPBullet
Absolutely not kid friendly but i appreciate you asking responsible questions
darkhalfbreed

Radix865
Sorry but it's definitely not kid friendly. It's violent and gets very dark at times, it's rated R-15 here but I think it's R-17+ in places like US.
DaPastry
Do NOT watch with your kids.
Durtschi
Noted. We will find something more kid friendly
Irrevenant
It very much is not.
Durtschi
Thank you, probably should have figured from the clip being a nun with a gun
