Star Trek has always played fast and loose with rewriting the timeline. For example Data isn't dead in All Good Things
this isn't a timeline arc, Discovery is stuck in the future permanently. That said, the episode you mentioned doesn't imply that at all.

I honestly couldn't care less about the A-10. It's an aging relic of Vietnam war military doctrine and needs to be replaced.
The SR-71 is alright but the A-10 is the single most overrated aircraft in USAF history.

I looked at it closely to be sure, and there are flecks of pyrite in there. I could still be wrong but I'm pretty sure it's lapis.
In both Kentucky and Indiana you can actually find sea lily fossils in rivers and streams that can be used as necklace beads, it's fun.
You can easily tell the difference through their hardness. Tourmaline is a 7 while enargite is a 3. It's much more fragile.
I know, I've just found through teaching that people are less confused if I use Iron pyrite.
It's a LOT more fragile though, sadly.
