Consoles require less thought in setting up - can be better for more casual gamers who like sitting on the couch to game
Not necessarily - we all use PCs and you can play games on similar spec hardware for a little bit extra $$ with all the other functions

While I do have both (I live with my parents for a little bit longer) my main point was that there is a place in the market for both
