This is your public profile, write something about yourself

Looks kinda small for a costco slice, but the cheese looks very costco.

Is that a costco pizza?

True. I was thinking something along those lines too, that for some of these, the kid was in an already unsafe position and the parent was a bit too far away to reliably prevent injury. I mean I have 2 monkeys myself, I know its okay to let them get close to finding out without actually putting them at risk, but some of these were dicey. Like that metal slide one and the brick steps in particular. Good saves but even a split second stumble from dad and it could have been a trip to urgent care.

It took my years to realize that I was saying "epitome" wrong. What made it worse was that I knew the word "epitom-ee" but my brain just did not connect that reading "epitome" was the word "epito-mee" and just assumed they were two distinct words with similar meanings. I still can't fucking read "epitome" right.

Yea, they went for the fish and knocked the kid in. Terrible.

Case in point. You can trust the product, but how much do you trust everything else involved?

Someone should tell him he's not allowed to go inside the lion enclosure at the zoo. Liberals don't want him petting lions. Obama said he's too much of a pussy to do it.

Millennials out here getting neither.

Good catch.

Literally any engagement with it helps it. Laugh reacts, satirical response, straight up insults... even if you comment only to point out that its rage bait so OTHERS don't engage with it, helps engagement. This really is a case of "the only way to win is not to play".

The problem is when you engage with bots, you're feeding the algorithm, broadcasting their content to more eyeballs.

I'm honestly not even sure what to do with those percentages. Without additional context, there are so many contradicting conclusions one can draw from them.

I like it enough to keep watching, but I can definitely see it getting canceled. People will be comparing it to R&M and it definitely doesn't have the depth R&M had even in season 1.

I LOVED Adam ruins everything. Really sad it didn't catch on

Everyone hates it, why can't UX designers just stop using them?

Which one was this? The first time? the 100th time? These posts needs dates

I can't blame anyone. Its their money on the line. I can be mad about the situation but I totally get it.

That still doesn't change the fact that its not a death sentence like you'd be inclined to believe. There are roughly 2-400 reports of human-lightning contact a year in the US and "only" about 26 on average (2006-2025) fatalities. Given how quickly this guy in the post "shakes it off" I'll be willing to be the reported number of human strikes is actually pretty low. The real number might be several times the reported figure which makes it even more survivable than I would have ever guessed.

Damn, you'd think after the 2nd time someone was struck by lightning, they'd be looking for a desk job. One time? Fluke, 1/million chance. 2nd time? Nah, I aint rolling that dice again.

I remembered hearing that actually getting hit by lightning is unlikely to kill you so I just looked it up to verify. Apparently 90% of people hit by lightning survive

Okay I lost track of how many they already had and assumed this was about a NEW movie. But no, this is about the one that came out last year. No current plans for any new MI movies in the current series. Given how unoriginal hollywood is these days, a reboot with another lead some day is a very safe bet.

I have not. I do like Hoffman though. Obviously killer in Rainman and The Graduate. Not sure I really "got" The Graduate, but I appreciated his role.

Right, but thats what a manic pixie dream girl does. They're featured prominently as a character, but they function more like a plot device, not a character. Characters should have depth, their own motivations, their own arc.
Also, I'm not saying I didn't like the movie anymore, but you called our her character specifically and I found that this was the part of the movie that aged the worst IMO. Hoffman's character was as great as I remember.

That falls under "have enough money to not care" it would seem.
Being inebriated definitely draws that line a bit different, but I for one don't think that even in my drunkest, I could have considered it. That immigrant mentality runs to the very core for me.

Maybe keep it as a fond memory. I loved the movie when I was younger. I had a particular affinity for it since it filmed at my university and came out in my freshman year. I had an urge to revisit it in the last year and found Gyllenhaal's character particularly flat. She felt less like a character with her own arc, and more like a prop. I never heard of her being referred to as a Manic Pixie Dream Girl but that was immediately the vibe I got.

I've seen it, maybe not specifically iced coffee but something equally as ridiculous and frivolous. Some people just don't connect spending with their net worth. Either they have enough money to not care, no ability to impulse control, or simply lack the ability to contextualize what "small purchases" are really worth when you add them up.

Have you rewatched it recently?

I'll get downvoted to hell with you too, but you're right. She added nothing to this video. The only "content creator" that does these videos right is the chicken egg guy. The "thats right" guy who sounds like Patrick Warburton. Love those.

Yep. And venezualen production capabilities are also relatively small compared to the US. Like 1/11th the US capability. Not that we should be pumping that much but we are, and we are draining the reserves too. So whatever Venezuela can pump out isn't even going to make much of a difference.
