It doesn’t celebrate independence from a particular country. It celebrates a certain point towards independence but not for full independence. Are you seriously trying to make me correct this again after people made me correct it before? I guess you can’t win.

It isn’t really about celebrating I independence from the UK, as that happened more gradually over time. It’s not tied to one specific date that is celebrated. That part was revised due to comments on my earlier post
Yes, but the one it celebrates is about Spanish colonial rule
I figured that what they celebrate is statehood and the oath taking of Leopold I of Belgium in 1831. Not specifically about becoming independent from the Netherlands

But all of America celebrates independence from the UK
Philippines Independence Day is about independence from Spain. The one from the US which used to be celebrated on July 4th no longer exists.
Its actual Independence Day is about independence from Spain. It has another national holiday related to the United States, but it’s not Independence Day.
