I hate profiles
This is misleading - I have a BMW and got this ad, but I wasn't forced to watch it before I could start the car or do anything else with it. I got a notification that there was a new video available (BMW regularly releases videos directly to the vehicles for holidays and such), and I had to expend effort to find the video. I could easily exit the video at any time. So "sorta" (and I don't like being advertised at), but really nothing like what's being implied here.

That's like a $15M engine, and United will want to get it back up and making money. It'll be interesting to see what the NTSB does with it.
A stall at full power would have corncobbed the compressor and killed the bearings - the fan probably wouldn't be spinning anymore.

Yes, everything inside the engine is metal and can't burn. That's fuel from somewhere.
Because the fuel shut off automatically when they lost the engine. Maybe had fuel accumulated under the engine and it ignited after takeoff
blew the case off when it finally ignited after takeoff. Believe it or not, they can probably repair the engine and put it back in the air.
Turbine guy here - the engine is still there and it's spinning, so I speculate that this might have a been a fuel leak that (1/2)
