I may just be a large, bearded Viking-American, but I've got a special place in my heart for work stories and adorable comics. That and funny stuff...

Because the Supreme Court is so much better right now?

I’d say synthetics are higher quality for any purpose. They’re almost always clearer than natural and they’re seldom soaked in the blood of children. I don’t understand why anyone would give tens of thousands of dollars to an industry built on the deaths and exploitation of poor people just to put a rock on their finger.

Some things do. Food. Water. Clean air. Shelter. Medicine. Sex. These have an intrinsic value because they are necessary for our survival as individuals and as a species.

But the dollar value assigned to them often has little connection to that intrinsic value and is based solely on getting the most profit possible.

That’s why the consent part is so emphasized in this video. That’s the difference between “sexy foreplay” and “physical abuse”.

They can have a word if they like but hydro is the only power source that competes with boiling water for energy conversion efficiency. Wind and solar are great but they’re not nearly as efficient as boiling water.

Other than Steamdecks, what would Steam even sell that would be hit by tariffs?

#1 I feel like this would be more valuable if it was plotted against average age of people in the generation instead of year.

“No plans” is just about the weakest, least committal response he could have given. The response should have been more like “The United States military will never interfere with American elections or the democratic process and the deployment of American troops for that purpose would be a violation of federal law and our oath to preserve and protect the Constitution.”

Her works were derivative and shallow. Nothing wrong with that, they were children’s books. But they’re beloved by a generation who read them as children and then never read anything else to compare them with.

And what exactly has your country done to stop all that, Hans? Because I seem to recall a whole lot of supporting Israel, refusing to condemn genocide, and supplying their government with resources and intelligence coming from you guys.

Or is that different because you already did fascism and now you think you’re over it?

Well fuck your whole family because of your behavior then. They should all be swallowed.

You hear how stupid that sounds?

Do you know how Gary, a majority black city, votes? Here’s a hint for you, it’s not for Republicans.

Maybe try thinking before you open your mouth and spew ignorant hatred.

Believe it or not but not every village and farm was ransacked or burned. Many continued thinking of themselves as Romans for centuries after the “fall” and some had already stopped considering themselves Roman before that.

Yes. Check all their marketing material. You have to enable Apple AI to use it, just like you had to enable Apple Intelligence to use that.

You do have to explicitly turn on and enable the AI feature for any of that. Apple AI is disabled by default.

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It’s not. ChatGPT built a feature for their own app that accesses iMessage. You would need to install their app and explicitly give it permissions to do this. It has nothing to do with Apple.

The option is to not install the ChatGPT app on your Mac and give it permission to do this. It’s not a feature built into Mac or iMessage.

2 weeks ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

It doesn’t have anything to do with Apple. This is just what ChatGPT does when you install it in your computer and allow it full disk access. This would 100% be true for a Windows or Android device with the same app installed. The poster is just using Apple and iMessage because it gets more clicks.

They ARE political. Inherently. So is food, housing, water, electricity, children, healthcare, your job, your car, your marriage. Anything which can be affected by legislation is political.

Being “political” isn’t a bad thing and politics isn’t a dirty word. We need to reject the false idea that politics is somehow separate from our daily life. That line of thinking only benefits the people at the top who will use our ignorance and complacency to their own advantage.

Those are all politics. The conservatives just want everyone to believe that politics are some separate thing from “real life” that isn’t important and doesn’t need to be discussed.

Taco Bell app is actually good though and has nice deals and rewards. McDonald’s app doesn’t give you shit.
