Oh please. I didn't mean the *literal* worst part. I meant more "icing on the cake"
I am! Unfortunately. Though I prefer Boilermaker :)
She has private insurance that covers the first 100 days. After that, she's required to go on Medicaid.
She's on Medicaid. So the state pays for the nursing home but they seize her assets. It's $288 a day for the nursing home!
Surprisingly, her dishes were clean. And that's what we donated. She had a ton of dishes, especially coffee mugs.
Kept family photos, the box of army stuff we found, all the records, about a dozen books. And the grandfather clock.
She's on Medicare, which pays for the nursing home. $288 A DAY! I get it, it's a trade off.
I'm not saying it's a bad thing. I called social services for them to step in. We needed their help.

Yup. On Medicare, that's why the state seizes everything. Had to get a lawyer to get guardianship.
I know it shouldn't have gotten to this. But she made the choice to avoid us. I feel guilty but there's not a lot we could have done :(

Oddly enough, she never listened to music. Ever since I was little, she kept a radio on talk radio all day every day. We got her a radio.
Saved all the records & about a dozen books. Found a bunch of first editions. Most books were eaten by mice.

Hadn't talked to her in 6 years. Hadn't been to the house in ~13. She basically hates me.
My freshman year roommate failed the PRAXIS twice. She was super stupid. And is currently a teacher.

Used to teach private Kindergarten, $17,400/year. Still had to pay a "supply fee" & buy uniforms. Sad part, I made less than $20k.
