Yeah, it will mostly depend on their teacher and the person. If they're just training for point sparring, then they're not going to be (1/2)
In the tae kwon do class I take we actually do a lot of blocking.

As a martial artist, I think the point is that if you get to a point where you can do a kick like that, you're probably skilled enough (1)
