Ah yeah, stubbing toes isn't a huge concern in most gyms. In terms of impact protection, if 500+ lb of iron does hit your foot, a steel toe wouldn't save you. Instead, it's better to avoid the weight falling at all (note the spotters and straps here), learn how to safely dump the weight, and in the worst case where something does fall uncontrolled, the equipment is designed for the plates to hit the floor out on the sides while the bar has enough clearance to not crush your skull.

When you have 500+ pounds on your back, almost any shoe is pretty squishy and compressible, like walking on pillows. This is very bad for stability. Good options include: specialized lifting shoes with a heavily reinforced sole, something like a Converse with a thin incompressible sole, or just go barefoot. This lifter evidently prefers barefoot.
I'm pretty sure Tamara can eat whatever she wants.

I count five plates? Doing that for reps is still crazy though. It is definitely a monolift, she just walked it out anyway - at a guess, because she'll have to walk it out in competition.

One of my favorite authors, qntm, writes a lot of sci-fi short stories. Some of these, which at first seemed to be entirely separate, eventually turned out to be the early chapters of a novel he now calls "Fine Structure".
Not that we know something worse, just "time travelers don't want to hang out with an Epsteinite" rather than specifically "time travelers fear being a target of an Epsteinite".
That's his total of three lifts, rather than in a single lift.

David Nakayama was the lead artist on City of Heroes, one of my favorite games ever, which died an untimely death in 2012. I'm very glad that he is still making cool stuff.

An exhaust port on a $700 million ballroom? What would a $950 million ballroom need that for? I don't think you have any experience building $1.2 billion ballrooms. Pretty soon you'll be telling me that this $1.6 billion ballroom isn't actually critical to national security!
It can't possibly mean percentages since it excludes the top 1000. The numbers seem to be simply made up.
