The eye of Fran passed directly over my house when I was a kid. All hell flying through the air and in a snap of your fingers it was still and a perfect day. Devastation everywhere with birds chirping. And then the fingers snapped again and tree trunks were in the air. Top five craziest shit I've ever seen.
If I was rich, the very first thing I would change would be my socks, and I would never wear the same pair of socks twice ever again.
That one in the back like "Derrick ain't even that cool." Always one in the group.
And Fiberglass!, well, that was IV fluid, prolly doesnt count.
I was a paulbearer six times that year, went to more funerals than that. Nasty year.. horrible really. But we keep moving forward til we can't. Hope things get better.
I get almost all my news from memes. Memes and NPR. Maybe listen to your local NPR station more? I honestly prefer finding out in memes tho.

I gotta say, I'm with you on everything else, I really dislike cracker barrel in general, but I fed my family of five (41M, 40F, 13M, 6F, 3F) for 94 dollars including 20% tip, and all three kids ate all of what they ordered. That's the cheapest place in the city damn near. I dont think it's CB winning as much as the national economy failing, but credit where it's due.

My cousin got dengue after returning from volunteering as a doctor in Honduras. It was terrifying to see. She was basically isolated the whole time but I'd spend time outside her room with my uncle and her brothers. My memories of it are still nauseating 10 plus years later. I hope the best for anyone unfortunate enough to contract it.
