Get this to the front page and I will

I saw this bird a few years ago in Thamesmead, London. It was amazing. Thanks for reminding me, I should really go back there one day and photograph the birds, there are a few great spots

@OP what are these noisy blue balls with the feather called? We used to have this exact toy about a decade ago in UK, but at some point we could only find fakes that were completely filled and didn’t have those noisy bits inside. We’ve been looking for these forever since. :(

Top answer for me, made me chuckle out loud. Cheers

I am guessing you’re all from USA so this is a very long shot, but maybe there are some programs, councils, whatever that offer free help or group sessions, or anything community minded at all? UK is full of stuff like that but I understand America might just be a shithole

I guess the writer strike’s aftermath is showing, or I am looking in the wrong places, or maybe it’s just me who has exhausted all the heavy emotional topics in shows that there is nothing else to experience. Idk. It sucks. 2/2

I want to watch TV so badly but I am getting frustrated about how so many shows are so badly written these days. The last show I really enjoyed watching was House and it was over a year ago. I used to be crazy about Korean dramas but now they are just recycled slop with no original or creative direction. The one time there was a really promising Kdrama, it was held back by the actors’ decision to not make the characters fall for each other (kudos to them for not forcing it but still). 1/2

is nice. When I checked out my groceries, I made the mistake of taking my empty basket on top of my equipment bags and groceries; I dropped my groceries in front of the stack and the two cashiers that were chatting away, not actually doing anything. I know I could have asked for help, but it just felt a bit damning that they just continued to talk while watching me pick up everything. I didn’t bring it up and just left, it but I was a bit disappointed nevertheless. 3/3

The problem with the baskets being left there is that the next customer has to either take away that empty basket and put it somewhere else or in the stack when it shouldn’t even be their job to begin with. Sometimes you can’t stack your own basket onto the last customer’s one because there is an overhanging card reader yada yada. One time I was coming from work with multiple photo equipment bags and needed to buy groceries. Usually cashiers take your basket right as you empty it which 2/?

It’s a mixed bag, I had plenty good and bad experiences with self checkout stations ar Sainsbury’s. One time the customers are hanging out at the station or are being comically slow, or they leave their basket on the platform instead of carrying it back to the stack 2m from where they were standing, like a decent person. Cashiers that stand there to supervise usually take those baskets and put them into the stack, but I’ve also seen them chat away with another one and ignore the baskets. 1/?

My cats love to cry like they’re going to die if I don’t let them in, and when I open the door, they stare and don’t come in. Maybe they don’t care for me and they just care for all the doors being open at all times

people treating ChatGPT as a person that could never be wrong or as a servant that would do all the consequential work for them, while the user doesn’t even bother to check its trustworthiness. Unfortunately I had to start using ChatGPT instead of Google Search for many things, because of how bad the latter has become at getting me what I need. ChatGPT is a tool, not an answer for problems.

Not sure why you’re getting downvoted, there are actually good uses that would save you time. In the past it would take 5-15 minutes to comb through Google Sheets documentation for the formula I need (which by the way offers bad examples), but with ChatGPT I can get it to write up the exact formula I need, in under a minute. I also run some writing logic through it to find plot holes, but ultimately I still have the final say on whether I agree with ChatGPT’s findings. The issue is with 1/2

Dude who actually gives a crap about this besides old people who are too set in their ways to acknowledge that nobody on the internet cares about their idea of how internet content should be?

it’s probably not so much about that content creator and more about how new things get reported all the time and the bigger the deal about it, the more people want to point out that this is taking attention away from Epstein. Also, a lot of imgur users are obsessed about politics and like to mention it regardless of context like it’s their autistic hyperfixation so that doesn’t help. I’ve seen political comments on freaking cat posts.

I have no idea about how the real world works when it comes to stuff like this, but maybe they had to go to public view for this purpose. Because if they started doing things silently and someone realised they are meeting up or something, it would just be assumed that a future suicide would be because of something like “they didn’t have the list, I couldn’t go on living” blah blah. Maybe staying in public view helps them. I know that this sounds like a movie so don’t tear me a new one pls

Did they figure out why all of them passed away or was it deemed to be that fading kitten syndrome? I just find it so odd that the 5th one held on for so long but ended up giving in anyway. Hope the last one will be ok :(

Yeah people don’t understand that just because you see some online movement it doesn’t necessarily mean it is the majority of people. I learned about this when people tried boycotting a $500 Ahri skin (League of Legends) by increasing the champion’s ban rate but it didn’t go high enough because most ranked players actually want to make their ban picks matter since they only get one.

Wait thats what happened? Is there not a single human worker managing this?

I mean is it really that bad? I’ve been around on Imgur since 2011 so I know it used to be a whole lot better but as a casual user, it still gets the job done if all I aim to do is browse for some funny, info or news posts.

Can someone explain what is going on?

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I have a tin foil hat theory that most of these “this is fake” or “you actually dont know what ur doing” comments that appear only to be proven wrong never existed and are just an engagement tactic by the content creator to get the algorithm going.

It sucks even more if you have chronic issues that you need to wake up earlier for (too long to explain, but basically covid complications). I wake up at 5:50am to go to a shift that starts at 10am. I scheduled an appointment with a specialist back in February who couldn’t see me any earlier than October. I recently found out that they cancelled that appointment and now I have to go through the admins to have any hope of getting that sorted out and being seen before next year.
