What really surprised me was that there were *no* recounts. I’ve been a political nerd since the Mondale/Ferraro campaign and I don’t recall a single presidential election where NOT ONE STATE had to recount the ballots. Or were there demands for recounts that just went unreported by our ‘left-wing’ MSM?

I have a similar recipe. Start by sautéing the sausage on low for like 8 minutes. That renders out some of the oil. Then sauté the onions in that, just until they’re soft and translucent. Then build the rest of your soup.
I guess Bill decided there was more to explore there.
As a Gen Xer who was listening to Nirvana and Hole while Kurt was still alive, *I* did that. I’m not suggesting for a minute that she deserved what Weinstein did, I just resent feeling like I had to choose a side between Dave & Krist and Courtney.

More to the point, the phrase goes back to the days of sailing ships (duh), and ship captains would routinely hire sailors from whatever port they happened to visit, so while the ship might fly an American or British flag the crew might be Dutch or Portuguese. This would be reflected in, amongst other things, the way they rigged the sails, because they learned different ways to do it in Lisbon than in Boston. And you could see it from a long way away if you knew what to look for.
This. I won’t believe they’re actually deactivated until they’re rendered physically incapable of functioning. If they’re just remotely deactivated, someone else can remotely reactivate them.
