US Foreign Policy / International Affairs / Beer

I suppose that's possible. I continue to resist calling anyone stupid, even in this environment, so I may be overlooking something

If this were real, why would she have posted it in the first place?

In addition to everything else also mentioned, this is very NOT Catholic. Dude is just an evangelical who thought Catholic hierarchy was cooler. Nothing about the way he discusses his religious beliefs suggests he cares about or even knows much about, Catholic theology specifically.

Absolutely bananas that NYC has a population bigger than all but 12 states, and roughly as many as the least populous NINE STATES combined

This is, in fact, correct. It was not to coddle anyone, it was to expand the term to cover what military medical officials were experiencing. Carlin can be quite funny, but surprisingly reactionary about unexpected things. The evolution from Shell Shock to PTSD is not some softening of the culture, but rather an expanding and improving understanding of what's happening medically so it can be categorized and treated

What does this have to do with her performance or discography? Is it for a song about her problems with dudes or something?

As a New Yorker, I can tell you that he was too good at media and outreach for those characterizations to land. People saw him, they interacted with him, they could tell that he genuinely liked the city and liked them. Telling them the smiley, helpful, friendly young man they just met was a dangerous lunatic was too dissonant. And even though NYC is big, it's still small enough that he could reach a lot of people directly

Yeah, Padre Guilherme is awesome. Basically making it his life's work to help make electronic music legitimate worship music in the Catholic church. And he's been making progress! Francis was supportive, and Leo has given him even more support

When we needed hundreds of millions of everything, they needed to be interchangeable, predictable, safe, made to code, inexpensive, functional, uncomplicated and ... INSURABLE. The world runs on insurance, and if it can't be predicted, it can't be insured

Form follows function. This isn't evil... it's the consequence of large, complex society

The parallels in Futility go further. The sinking itself is described in great detail, involving the ship sinking by the bow first, with its stern lifted up in the air, visible to the thousands of swimming survivors below, before breaking and detaching and falling back into the sea

There is a significant comfort in the fact that, even though Musk may be unfathomably wealthy, he also appears to be incredibly miserable absolutely all the time.
