I think you're thinking of Mt. Denali getting it's name changed back to McKinley. Rainier has been named that officially since the 1890s, though there is ongoing effort by native groups to get it recognized as Mt. Tahoma which is more like what they call it

I spent around 60 hours on vanilla Skyrim before I got bored. Thanks to mods, I recent passed 300 hours.
