Will it be, though? The entire industry is now fully dependent on AI, and with them the governments that use services provided by companies. If AI stops being available, the entire world economy will sink into an unprecedented chaos. Imagine electricity were suddenly unavailable

Not contracts, bailouts. Our tax money will be used as giveaways to these companies to subsidize their service. Like public transit, roads, schools, so that everyone gets access at a price low enough to replace human employees.

That's why queer sports clubs are important, they respect "come as you are"... I always hated being naked in public, but this summer I was on vacation with the queer sports club, went swimming in a lake in a "secret" location and dared to wear some pretty hot briefs. Was a nice experience feeling comfortable like this.

#2 Utopias are so boring, all answers will be bland and predictable... A drawing like this evokes imagination, and the world might not even be perfect (what if the ruler of the sky island is evil?).

The rhythm gives it away, it sounds like the bazillion AI slop LinkedIn posts

This show IS probably the result of the incessant complaining about "excessive" pride displays. They'll keep complaining until nothing is left. That's precisely the reason why pride HAS to be over-the-top excessive.

One of the appraisers is a geek who adores old trinkets and oddities with sentimental values, such as old newspapers. They fall in love, marry, and fill the endless tunnels and halls of the dragon's lair with the largest collection of exquisite curiosities in all of the world. The collective magical aura of once-beloved heirlooms, everyday items and physical mementos grants them deep insights into the mysteries of life. They grow old, wise and comfort the mourning. The end, roll credits.

Hmm? Bearded vultures are endangered, they were extinct in the alps and are now being reintroduced.

Just as with the Grindr notification sound 🤪

That money is now with the manufacturer of the yachts bought by the insurance CEOs. Mostly the manufacturer's CEO of course.

Naturally. Or even better, like in Handmaid's Tale.

You could also ban abortions, make education inaccessible (more education for women is associated with lower birth rates), make birth control inaccessible, stop prosecuting rape, terrorize trans and queer people who probably wouldn't have children, deny all kinds of rights to women. Then you get hordes of uneducated fresh meat ready for the mines and trenches.

TIL 🤯 that's so wild! Did the word "an" get created this way in the first place?

In the local gay fetish club, the conversations at the bar are usually about IT stuff. One of the club's bosses' dating profile nickname is a Star Trek pun. As is my profile name on the same site (coincidence!).

You can still buy D-cells, we use them at work ;-)

Well air-gapped (completely offline) systems still exist for highly sensitive applications! Yeah the DSL "always on" thing was amazing... I adapted to it quickly but my family asked "are you online, can you look up something for me" for quite some time after getting DSL. Now it's my parents who are on their phones 24/7, mostly asking Gemini random things...

In my first internship, literally 20 years ago, the company had a dedicated internet computer in a dedicated room, and all other computers were offline. A software company! I found it super weird even back then.

Mosquitos are needed as well, they are a big food source. Sadly they the US as their food source...

Yeah well the AI companies want you to think exactly this. They're showing sources for now, but not always, and the "sources" often don't contain the actual information. They want to completely divorce us from the actual source, and have us rely entirely on the LLM. Can't even really blame the people who fall for it.

Excellent tip, thank you... Makes sense. I guess it would also give cops enough time to aim the gun... Finally a good use for those metal boxes everywhere lol

In Venezia there *are* signs explaining that it's forbidden (!) to swim in the canals (because they are *filthy*) but the American tourists still do it, intentionally.

Many cities, including in the netherlands, already have those. But people are a***, bringing your bike to a co-op / refurbishment place is too much effort.

It's not acceptable, but nobody has found a way to stop it. Or a way that people (city admin) is willing to pay for.

Europeans don't need guard rails in their lives 🤪 If you lock your bike to something, it won't fall in.

That's just side effects of high voltage *electric* (not magnetic) field, I think everybody can feel that. Mostly from the field moving body hair. Animals evolved sensitivity to electric fields specifically to detect other animals, so they're very sensitive and don't need high voltage...

Thanks, can't dogs jump? Sounds like something that's worth remembering 😁

I see, well punching a dog didn't even occur to me... If it came to actually fight a dog I guess I'd try to kick its head as hard as I could. Ideally before it could actually bite. Obviously fighting as a last resort. I wonder how effective throwing things is, e.g. a well aimed rock.

Can you feel a battery (e.g. AA) that is just sitting around? The presence of animals/people? The power cables in the wall?
