Mine made it 50+ years. Broke 2 months ago. I made a memorial post on FB. Contacted Tupperware, and they replaced it. The design has barely changed

Heinlein's books reflect his political leanings that shifted as he grew older. He was, as Asimov described him, a "flaming liberal" in his early career, but became a broken idealist that fell into curmudgeonly conservative "these damn kids" rants at the end. Writing off his whole body of work because of the 2nd half is doing yourself a disservice

My favorite thing about the DVD of Signs was that it had a brightness/contrast test for your TV, and after you set it correctly, you saw #1's reflection like you had just turned off an old CRT TV

They were originally the Cleveland Spiders, but were the first team to have a Native American player. Then they added a 2nd and a 3rd, and "Here come the Cleveland Indians" was used as a slur that they embraced. Still, the term Indian and the caricature mascot aged like milk

The whole of 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' was like that though. The chords are Boston's 'More than a Feeling' in a minor key. They even gave Boston writing credits

Capitalism isn't a moral system. There is no good or bad in it, only profit and loss. The problem is that it's being used as a moral system of a false meritocracy, which makes Profit = Good and Loss = Bad.

NGL, I thought OceanGate was the name the media was giving the fiasco, but it turns out it's the NAME OF THE FREAKING COMPANY...

There is no morality in business. No good or bad. There is only a sociopathic pursuit of profit at all costs
