A lot of positive opinions about nuclear power plants are spread by the companies that benefit from it. it's the whole cars over trains thing again. check how long it takes to build a safe nuclear power plant. check how much power it produces. check how much radioactive waste is really produced. check where the waste is stored. check the cost of dismantling the power plant after 40 years. compare that to a bunch of windmills. or just downvote. ignorance is bliss.

France is currently completely relying on nuclear power. their plants are all stone old. emergency shutdowns in the future are expected without any plan b. actually last summer a lot of them needed to be shut down because the rivers had no water, or the fish started dying because of the heat. now guess how much it costs in time and money to remove and rebuild a nuclear plant.
