It would depend on the county you are in. A lot of county's have a "victim advocate office" that provides victims of all crimes, help paying for care.
It's great to see people block an ambulance from saving a life, definitely makes others want to support the cause! (Eye roll)

Have you priced Medicare for your age and area, so you have an idea how much you'd be paying for a universal healthcare plan, if it happened
My Medicare is $700 a month and MS medication is $2,500 a month through Medicare. Medicare for all is just expensive crappy care.

Thank you! I've applied for everything, I'm currently getting a grant to help with the one medication. Wish more knew it's not free.
I have Medicare, it costs me almost $700 a month (for only myself) and I still have to pay $2,500 a month for my MS medication.
MS meds are $7,557 a month.Medicare only covers $5,000 of the cost.SSD pays less than that a month.
He had Medicare which does not pay for long term nursing homes, it requires you to sell any assets before applying for Medicaid to help.
Had to really dig through all the paperwork to find the clause that said they would cover it. Only after I had the doc note,they gave in.
Mine was covered without chemo. I just needed a prescription from my doctor. It did take a while to get the info from the insurance co.
Some insurance companies will cover the cost of wigs if you call it a "cranial prosthesis". Check your insurance coverage.
So sorry for your loss. :'(
