A few interests of mine Started playing the piano at around 9, but at 19, was on a 6-year hiatus due to lack of access. Now I'm trying to start again and work off the rust. I draw sometimes, when I don't know what else to do. I enjoy wandering through mountains and forests; nothing clears the mind faster. When those aren't available as options, a night drive is also something I'll do, once in a blue moon. Picked up reading again recently, looking into philosophical topics and others. Linux: I've taken to looking for alternatives to using products from soulless corporations, as their end-goals don't align with mine, and are prone to enshittification. I've been having a lot of fun with the freedom to do as much or as little as I want with this system and not having it overriding my choices. If I have the time -- I'll game here and there.

If you're already using a different browser, might as well follow through and use a different search engine than Google imo

Package managers and snapshots to rollback from any regressions are an absolute godsend. I loathe having to click through install wizards on Windows haha

So is #1. You're in a legally binding contract that you sell yourself into. Welcome to the land of the free.

Proton is software that you run on Linux, Linux Mint is an operating system. My problem w/ Mint is that it is terribly slow to adopt updates and fixes for graphical drivers (e.g. Mesa).

For gaming, you'll want something that sticks with more current software updates. Nobara, CachyOS, and PikaOS are examples that use more recent software applicable for gaming.

Grab a USB drive and install one of the .ISO files there and boot into the drive. You can try things out before committing to anything.

My use case mirrors yours pretty closely, save for the fact I'm not the biggest programmer, but I do plenty of scripting.
I use Artix Linux, which is Arch but without systemd.
If you want something that you can set and forget, just grab a barebones server image and install all the packages that you want on your system. I use dinit for the init system, but you could just use openrc and refer to Gentoo's documentation for that.
Let me know what else you might want to know.

Nextcloud, syncthing, and Immich can all provide those services, plus you won't have to deal with OneDrive's drawbacks: the data is yours and stored on your devices, and you don't need to use a third-party account to access your own data.

Not all VMs are created equally! You can get much better performance through setting up one through QEMU, and passing through your GPU to it. There's a lot of documentation over the process, if you are looking for a cleaner solution than having to dedicate an entire partition for Windows.
If you're interested, I can pass you some helpful documentation for VFIO.
It's how I'm able to boot the 2 games in my steam library that actively block Linux, but they don't see much use these days though.

One tell is that the stones didn't move at all despite being landed on with full bodyweight. They just phase in and out of view.

Vet here. Resisting illegal orders is not just our moral imperative, but our very obligation to the oath that we all took to uphold the Constitution.
Right now the US military is completely ignoring the ACTUAL domestic threat — this entire administration — in favor of enemies both imagined and realized externally.

Any member of the armed forces carrying out these illegal acts is complicit in them. I would rather be jailed for observing my oath than decorated for abandoning it.

Good people don't end up in places like those. I've been trying to find full-time employment for damn near 3 years, and never once has DOGE, ICE, or any of those fascist organizations ever come to mind as an option. Those cold empty eyes are exactly what would be staring back at you in the Nuremberg trials.

Well if it weren't for those pesky age of consent laws, conservatives would all be going for girls that haven't started their periods yet. Fucking insane that we continue to coexist with these monsters like everything is okay.

In more than one way! Via public execution AND a school shooting. Both of which he endorsed! Bitter pill to swallow, not that he could after all that.

I'm not saying that failing to punish the Confederacy is incorrect, however, accountability is a continuous process that must be upheld. Had we properly handled the traitorous cunts back then, we would still be susceptible to growing lax in holding our contemporaries to account. America has demonstrated a pattern in applying the law unequally to its people, and it's a problem that demands immediate resolution, should this country wish to prevent its demise.

It's less about being a win for the military, and moreso the sinister design of this country's economic system. Keep people desperate for long enough and those benefits start looking very enticing. That's how they got me.

With the right vise, you can center the object to the drill that is being used. Additionally, lathes such as this allow for things like threads to be created on a cylindrical object. There's a lot of utility in being able to simply rotate the object in place and make fine adjustments to the tool that is removing that material. It all just depends on the workflow.

Not only that, but the highlights on her legs don't align with the direction her shadow is cast. If the light source is the fire behind her, her outer edges should be brighter than the center.

I'd wager trimming the part of the url that formats it into a "short" might help.

Soundiiz also has a free service for that, so be sure to check out what options you have there!
