When they tap it on the ground at the beginning it sounds like a real sledge hammer. And I wonder if his rib cage took the hit because I don't know what would be worse having your ribs disintegrated or your organs taking the full hit.
Poorly made explosives usually explode when they aren't supposed to. Which is also why if they don't explode you need to be extra cautious when approaching them

They feel no different than any other tile...if the tile installer does their job properly. Personally, as a professional tile installer and shower enjoyer, I think river rock feels the best in a shower pan.
A borescope with a magnetic head is a godsend when you accidently drop a bolt in an engine bay.
Memo, 4 pounds of c4 may be a little...excessive
Mapei FA or Custom Prism or Laticrete Permacolor grouts are much better than traditional sanded/unsanded grouts. They resist staining much better and have a fine aggregate in them so you can use them on 1/16" - 1/2" grout joints. But sanded won't scratch the finish on the tile, only if you were using a polished marble would sanded maybe cause issues. Unsanded for less than 1/8" joints, sanded for over 1/8" joints.
Depending on where you live if you can get Wedi sealant, that stuff is an excellent waterproofing caulk. But only used it on stuff you can't see, like the under side of the flange. We use it to waterproof our niches we build and joints in steam showers. If you already have it installed though silicone should be fine. Especially being in a basement you don't have to worry about leaks as much.
What kinda shower pan do you have? Siliconing at the bottom usually just traps moisture behind the tile. With it just grouted the water has a way to weep out from behind the tile.
With Durock no waterproofing is needed on the walls and ceiling, unless you are making a steam shower. Silicone the vertical and ceiling joints to help prevent grout cracking but don't silicone against the shower pan. Source: Me a Tile Installer with 20 year of experience.
