Ah, my working experience doesn't extend that far. I mean, fire is pretty hot as standard, and a quick check on the Internet says bonfires reach 600 to 1000°C which is certainly comparable to the closed cremation process. I'm guessing for an even cook, you'd have to up your BBQ skills and be strong, cos that's going to be one massive burger to flip!
No no no. Cremation technician here. We cremate at around 800°C /1400°F and this increases, sometimes hitting 1000°C/1800°F (at which point we want to cool it a bit). So like Lisa's fish fingers in The Simpsons, you're most likely to be burnt on the outside and raw (or even frozen, depending on storage) in the middle. Go on, pop a whole chicken in your oven at the highest temperature you can, and then tell me how you got it perfectly cooked!
Placki in my family, only grate in a good lot of fresh garlic then egg and a bit of flour to bind them and rest before frying. A good dollop of sour cream on the side... absolute heaven. Many good memories of making these with my granddad.

I want to say don't give up, but I also know how you feel. Ngl, being a woman really helps in terms of others trying it on, but as for anything longer term... At nearly 47, I too feel very jaded with it all, but I think I have to keep trying, maybe this is hope tempered with realism. AuDHD is hard too (this is my diagnosis) as we're so full of contradictions that require nuance to understand, it feels like others don't want to put the effort in to getting to know us. Feels dude.

I believe (but not in a place to find the source rn) that there's a link between the gut microbiome and autism, and if I recall correctly, it's a difference in ratios of bacteria. It would be interesting to see how something like that correlates to stress and stews responses.

Soooooo, about that understanding of social cues. I'm ASD & I've had friends tell me I should have invited myself, or they made it clear they wanted me to come, but I've just not got it! I've lost friends because of shit like this. Not all autistic or NTs are the same, and it's fucking minefield. What might be a cultural / social no-no for one group of friends could be expected in another. But you know, black & white thinking is a thing and applies to our interpretation of social cues, ya know!
