Tag your posts, please. It's like returning your shopping cart - takes just a minute, but is the right thing to do and keeps the place clean for everybody. :)

Everything about this comic was fantastic. Absolutely ripped into toxic masculinity every chance it got.

It's still so weird to me that Nintendo puts so much effort into making their consoles so sturdy (from the CEO at the time: "I told them to make [the DS] so it could survive being dropped from 1.5 meters onto concrete. The hardware design team screamed" ) but then use the cheapest joysticks for the N64 and Switch.

Well there are two options on their website, and both lead to spank fodder, so...

A short duration in which you convert living bodies (if DM sticks to ruling like they did Mend, would fall within their guidelines) into your puppets, with no saving throw. It would never fly in an actual game, with objects being separate from creatures, but if DM rules Mend can affect living creatures, then Animate Objects isn't far behind.

I suspect that's why the DM allowed it in the first place. And I'm certainly not advocating against Rule of Cool, because I have certainly indulged my players in stuff that would never fly in either RAW or RAI. (Sorcerer and Wizard, one using a held action to cast a fire spell at the same time the other cast Gust of Wind, basically sending a horizontal fire tornado down a long mining tunnel filled with insect monsters.)
I was just explaining for anyone not familiar with DND.

If the DM allows this and is consistent with their rulings, I'm taking/learning Animate Objects the next chance I get. Good luck with that!

#5 For those not familiar, the reason this wouldn't work in Rules as Written is because both 5E and 2024 DND specifically place "objects" and "people" in separate categories. RAI (Rules As Intended) also wouldn't support this - setting aside the difference between objects and creatures, Mend is clearly intended to restore something to its original state, thus "break or tear" not "weld two things together". Your asscrack/hole are not broken or torn any more than the gaps between your fingers.

"No need for regulation, free market competition will keep prices down!" screech the corporation execs who reduce competition by merging and monopolizing every chance they get.
