We have Asheville, which is basically like the 80's San Francisco of the South. Idk how it's doing after last year's flood, though. I moved north 5 years ago for job opportunities and haven't been back to visit since the hurricane.

I'm in the minority and prefer working on-site to keep a regular schedule for my mental health problems, but support working from home 100%.

Boon is so beautiful. I wouldn't mind retiring there. It's always had a kind atmosphere, beautiful architecture, and wonderful anesthetic.
Even though this benefits commerce via tourism, it causes housing scarcity and has drastically raised the cost of living. (3/3)
current local economic issue is that the city continues to approve mass developments of hotels, while not funding permanent housing. (2/3)
I moved to the D.C. Metro area of W.V. right before the Pandemic hit for a job opportunity, so I don't know how it's changed. Their (1/3)
