So it wasn't them being evil (well maybe a little), it was them exploiting the tax code?
Easy, ask a person who has been abused, now ask a murder victim. I bet the abused will have a lot more to say.

Moving sucks, is a bit overwhelming, and can be terrifying but millions of immigrants do it, some illegally, and with less money.
unless you're a sex offenders or on some kind of probation, it is always an option. Or stay put a not feed your kids. Literally your options
You miss the point. You live where you can afford the cost of living. If you can't afford COL then go somewhere you can. Don't demand more $
So move, there is no oppressive body forcing you to live there.
That makes my point even more so. Move somewhere where you can afford the cost of living which includes fuel for the car you can't afford.
