I got lucky enough to visit the country and see it in person! I thought some of the ones in the museum building were very touching.

I really, really, really wished I liked beans for my own health but tbh it’s a texture issue and I can very rarely get past it. Lightly-beaned chili is about the only way I can eat beans.
Note: I am not a trans person myself, and people do have different preferences for language used in how they identify, but I have taken a higher-education course that dealt with individuals with special needs and the “right” way to refer to someone in a professional setting.
In general, you do not want to reduce someone to a trait because it is dehumanizing. “Blacks” instead of “black people,” a “schizo” instead of a “person with schizophrenia.” You usually want to center a person AS a person first, not defined by one characteristic. “A person who is trans,” not “a trans.” “People who are diabetic,” not “diabetics.” It’s not always super rude depending on context, but it certainly has the potential to rub the wrong way or be outright offensive.

Definitely! I’m ace but not sex repulsed. I think women are much hotter than men but also happily married to a very hot man. I love the label “queer” because it just means I’m LGBTQ+ somehow, but
I’d like to argue that any genre sounds all the same if you’re unfamiliar enough with it but country really said “hold my nice cold beer.”

I too have many health problems. It was a certainty in life I would be a mom, a mom of two, until my diagnosis. Now, I’m pregnant with my first and have second guessing everything since we started trying. Am I healthy enough? Am I young enough? Will I be able to step up even with my chronic illnesses? I know my life will change but I cannot fathom how and it’s scary.. but exciting too. I wish you all the luck in the world. <3
Just because the check paper is real and not washed (and I’ve seen some pretty good washed checks) doesn’t mean that the funds are good. There’s no such thing as “free money” and it’s a really good way to get yourself in trouble. You’re either committing, complicit, or a victim of a crime.
The problem in this scenario is that the process can take much longer than a hold, like a month or so, if it is a situation of being a washed or forged check, rather than an outright faked account.
Cashiers checks are frequently faked to lure people into trusting that it must be real, because it’s a cashiers check! If you’re not familiar with them, you might not know otherwise.
Deposit the check thru an atm or a mobile depositing service “because you were kind of suspicious but thought it might be okay so you wanted to try it anyway.” I don’t know how every bank works, but I would NOT rely on whatever system your bank has to catch it for you. Ask a real person and give them all the details. Call, if you don’t have a branch close. This is very long winded but I hope that it has helped someone. <3
Ask a teller. If it is not a cashiers check, the issuing bank will not give you any information. If it is, they can confirm if the check is real. If the bank the check is drawn off of is local, you can try to cash it there. They will not cash a check they know is bad. Otherwise, go to your bank and say, “I am suspicious of this offer and this check. Can you help me tell if this is real?” We see it all day and I am always happy to help. Do not do these real life examples of trying to remotely

This is ALWAYS a red flag especially if you didn’t haggle for more to cover transport costs, detailing, etc. In other kinds of scams, this could also be a “buy equipment from this specific company and the rest is your bonus” kind of deal. 8.) basically the rest you mentioned. If you get a check like this that you suspect is not legit, what should you do?
You said an individual contacted you, so why is a very generic company from CA sending this check? Are you even remotely located in CA? Because my bet is you’re probably states away. 6.) if it WAS a check from a small business, which do sometimes look like this, chances are high that the signature would be wet ink, not printed. This looks printed. Also, does that name match the person who reached out? Red flags beyond just the check itself: 7.) first and foremost the check is MORE than you are
Purposes. That ink is very crisp and dark. If it looks light and fuzzy, chances are that it was printed with a laser jet anyone can own. 3.) the font. It’s all the same font from the legal line to the mail-to. If it looks like it could have been made using a Microsoft word template, it probably was. 4.) the amount. It is JUST under a large threshold ie 4k, 5k, 10k. A lot of banks put holds on checks automatically over a certain threshold. They are trying to avoid that. 5.) The company
I’m a bank teller and can tell you that check is fake as fuck with just a glance. In the interest of education, here’s how I know: 1.) check paper. It’s legit check paper but paper that anyone can buy from staples, etc. it doesn’t have the watermark of a major check printer and distributor like “deluxe” who fulfills orders for several big banks like Wells Fargo. 2.) print quality. Most legit checks not done by small business payrolls are done with magnetic ink for electrification and processing
I still see images on tumblr marked “mature” by their screening and when I click it, it’s a Pokemon that’s a little too pink. Or an elbow. Or a grilled cheese sandwich. I don’t know by what metrics Adobe has deemed your image inappropriate or how they have “seen” the image to deduced this, but it does not bode well. :( fuck censorship

They were only interested in doing things for pride month so long as they benefited. Now, they’re not likely to benefit.
I’m staring down the insurance’s barrel with a future c-section of a very high risk twin pregnancy. Haha. I’m in danger.
My favorite band is BirdEatsBaby who have become a lot more metal over the years but started very much more cabaret. Painkiller, Box of Razorblades, or Temple are good first listens. I don’t know anyone else who knows them :). Castle Rat is my other top metal pick, with a very different, kind of psychedelic/dreamy feel. I love their recent Bestiary album, with Siren and Wolf being my two favorites.
