Off helping patients. I understand where you're coming from. I work in a teaching hospital and they don't teach rn students pt handling. 3/
Floor of 20+ patients. I realize every place is different, but in my place, it would greatly help some nights when I'm running my ass 2/
Also a hospital here was severely cutting back on employees and letting go aides and nurses. they often had only 1.aide for the entire 1/
And find out it is nothing like what they expected and turns out it's not for them. 5/5
Properly assist a patient. Plus I think it would really weed out the people who think they want to nurse but then get into the actual job 4/
I have to help 13 other patients, and all too often I have to work with new grad RNs who aren't taught pt handling and therefore cannot 3/
Done helping another or. Especially if they have bladder problems that result in not knowing when they need to go until they NEED to go. 2/
Aides are totally there to help, but it is also not fair to the pt who wants/needs to go to the bathroom to have to wait for me to be 1/
It's ridiculous how many RNs have no idea how to transfer a patient, use a hoyer or sit-to-stand, proper patient handling in general. 2/2
Been an aid for 8 years and IMO think nurses should HAVE to do a min. of 6 months as an aid before a nursing program will accept them 1/
I work as a cardiac nurse dealing w ppl who just had open heart/bypass. This album is job security to me.
