That’s how we made fireworks. Roll tinfoil into strips, put them in large Coke bottles (Coca Cola came in glass liter bottles then). Put in layer of Red Devil brand lie cleaner. Add water. Cover with thick rubber ballon. It would start spewing hydrogen gas. Once full, tie off ballon and send it off with a firecracker tied to it. KA BOOM!! Called them hydrogen bombs!

Yea… I was on a single pillar water tower once resetting a back haul radio and watched one of those mom&pops kids on another job rappel over the edge on a rope with zero rigging or harness. Damn. Life can be short!

Georgia. $62,000 using a 50/50 USDA rural small business grant program. Solar cells mfg in Georgia. Sadly, all solar programs are now gone and materials costs are also now taxed beyond affordability. Bought a 6th battery in 2026 to fill out the rack space and price had doubled from 2024. Georgia outlawed selling power back to the grid in rural areas several years back.

Yeaaa… Use to make what we called ‘hydrogen bombs’ with Red Devil lye drain cleaner and aluminum foil with a little water. Lye would leach the hydrogen out of the aluminum. Use the hydrogen off gassing to fill a heavy rubber balloons. Then set free with a bottle rocket to ignite. Made GREAT fireworks!

This started much earlier. Load distribution shifted weight off tractor plate. Downhill grade then caused trailer to start pushing the tractor. And because accidents are usually cascading issues, appears they loss trailer break pressure. Don’t try to steer out of the sway or brake. Just makes oscillation worse. Drive straight and take foot off accelerator. Engage exhaust break and use trailer mechanical breaks! And hope no one’s parked in emergency ramp!

Had that in… many years ago. 1963 Chrysler Newport. Square steering wheel and push button gears. Single light bulb in the center of the dash gave all the buttons green glow.

#23 to be fair, it’s cheaper than the drive through daiquiris from the Slidell drug store.

We drive over to NOLA a couple of times a year since forever. So the first morning we walked down Conti onto Bourbon after IV Waist had cleaned, WOW! Disney should try to keep their place as clean and fresh.

Yea, agree with another poster, probably edited voice traffic sequence.
To clarify what I meant; what we were taught in low altitude flight emergency, say under 1,000 AGL like this appears to be was declare your May Day/squawk 7700 then Aviate, fly the plane. As one instructor put it, ‘You don’t have to tell them your degree of f#&ked They’ll figure it out’.

Stop talking and land the plane. Aviate, Navigate, Communicate.

Martin Luther King Jr assignation… then soon after, staying up to watch the Apollo moon landing. A dichotomy that escalated me at the time.

Drove a rusty International Scout during the early’80s in Atlanta. Even taxis heeded the dominance of no f*cks given.

Don’t tell me this was 53 years ago…!! We use to canoe the Chattooga river down through Bull Sluice before the river as diverted. Never died once!

Late 60’s here. Just spent 4 days/nights camping out at a motorcycle rally. Yea, a bit of a dissociative fugue state on third morning. But nothing like the restorative powers of Sexton Whiskey in the morning to snap the old psyche back into singularity!

My first car was a 1963 Chrysler Newport. Push button gears and all. All the buttons glowed green from an etched plastic rod that ran to a single light bulb in the dash.
