This is not true for the UK where OP's video was filmed. It is perfectly legal for a member of the public to clean a road sign. The only issues people have had are from local councils worried about them getting hurt while cleaning the signs.

As for knowing the general range it would be in, even without sound, it's because I'm an aircraft mechanic who has worked on aircraft with the same engine. I'm not pulling numbers out of the air, I'm using my experience, as well as all the video and sound information available, to make an educated guess of what the rpm's would most likely be during this aircrafts landing.

The person above me was wrong when they described the engine as windmilling. Windmilling is when the engine is off and the propeller is being rotated by the airflow. The rpm would be in double digits at the most with the engine off, and even on a camera with a low fps, you would be easily able to tell if the rpm's were that low.

There's a lot of rpm's between 0 and 3,000 where the propeller disk will look different based on the rpm. The other issue with your maths is that the 0 360 engine neevr spins at 3,000 rpm in the Cessna 172 RG. Red line is 2,700 rpm, and you would cruise between 2,100-2,600rpm. On landing it would be much lower, around 1,000-1,500 rpm. The 2 biggest ways to tell though are by turning the sound on and listening the engine, and having experience on GA aircraft to know the rom ranges.

You can get a general idea from the video. You can't tell the exact RPM, but you can see that it is spinning so fast it is still under power. The Lycoming O360 engine that is most likely in this aircraft, idles around 600rpm though, which is much faster than you would see from a windmilling propeller.

You are incorrect. Windmilling is when the engine is off and the propeller is turning due to the airflow. The engine is clearly still on in the video, and power is only bought back to idle just as the pilot touches down.

Glider pilots also practice recovering and avoiding stall and spins regularly as they are at a higher risk of finding ourselves in a spin due to how we fly in thermals.

However, we also get taught during our training how to avoid spins and stalling, and it is drilled into us that it is always more acceptable to land out than it is to try and catch that low down thermal, because the risk of an unintentional spin is too great.

The instructors who encouraged me to spin new types have thousands of hours combined on everything from gliders to fast jets and airliners. They were far from beginners.

And no one is saying to go out and spin an aircraft with no training. But to say you need to practice them "a million times" before you do them on your own, just isn't true. They are as safe as any other semi-aerobatic manoeuvre.

Living people piss and shit themselves on flights all the time. Airline seats cushions and covers are regularly changed out due to human contamination. They will also carry a spare set of covers for each seat class on the flight.

They do only mention the destination airport though, there is no guidance for getting on the ground as quickly as possible. The recommended action for someone "presumed dead" is to inform the pilots so the destination can be prepared for the body, and then secure the body in a bodybag/blankets and belt them into a seat.

You're right that only medical personnel can declare somebody dead, but you can presume a passenger is dead after 30 minutes of CPR with no signs of life, and if no shocks have been advised by the automatic defibrillator.

If true, then that aircraft was flying illegally as the FAA require commercial aircraft to fly with sealed emergency medical kit, which will contain a variety of instruments and medications, they also need a first aid kit and an automated defib kit. It is up to the airline to track the kits and to replace them after they have been used/when they are near their expiry date.

Depends on the aircraft. On the 777 they have a rope like this. On the 787, they have an inertial real in a handle and you escape through a hatch in the flight deck roof. The inertial reel will then slow your descent as you slide down the side of the aircraft. I believe the 747 had a similar system too, but I've not worked on those.

The aircraft in OP's clip is an Airbus though, not sure if they use the same on all their aircraft but it does seem common throughout the A320 family and the A380.

Disagree, at least for gliders. As long as the airframe is rated for it and you've got plenty of height, spinning is perfectly safe. It's also better to practice spins when you can so you know how your glider reacts and how it recovers. I was always encouraged to go up and practice spins, gear up and gear down, whenever I was flying a new glider type. Plus it's a huge amount of fun!
