Ad blocker keeps you from seeing ads, but your presence is still counted as an instance because the ad was on the screen. Whether you saw it or not is irrelevant, medialab got paid

I'm just stating personal observations. In usersub it's usually about 10-12 new posts per 15 min, and that's taking into consideration that I have some tags and many prolific spam accounts blocked. When John Oliver spam began, there were 30-40 posts within the same refresh period. Today and yesterday it's about 20-25. More people are coming back to post and interact with the site. It's money to medialab

Prove that the main income stream for the site is ad revenue? And then active interaction generates more Ad instances? Which equals more money? You want me to prove that?

You're not really rebelling. In fact I'm sure all this extra engagement is bringing in extra ad revenue

Only one gets published

All it does is generate extra impressions that translates into higher payouts for media lab

And just like that, the revolt is over. And people are spamming the website with actual content, feeding the ad algorithm, making medialab shitload of money

What are you testing for?

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It sure does help with ad revenue. I guess we're force feeding money to media lab now. What a weird way to protest

They changed it within a year or two because of complaints.
