As a Magic player, it's an uncut sheet of foil cards, they proof with the card artist directly. WOTC did Pokemon at first, too. Same process

Sure a card is fake, rip it. Along the rip, you can see the blue line with a real card. Fakes, not so much. Fakers have gotten good at fakes
Magnification, you can see the blue cardstock between the front and back of the cards. That is the hardest to fake. If you're 100% (3/4)
