To be fair, this is kind of the easiest Metallica song to make an acoustic ballad cover of.
And the politicians leading the way to ban CFCs? Reagan and Thatcher! I feel like this should be pointed out to republicans more – you don't need to be anti-science. Experts are now saying if they hadn't done that, light-skinned people wouldn't be able to go outside for more than two minutes a day. I guess Reagan really did save the white race!
I'm offended on behalf of communists.
Just in case anyone takes this seriously: Imagine what your insurance would cost.(Yes obviously you should have universal healthcare instead.)
Sure it's fun to provoke hateful religious zealots, but this is quite a stretch. David could perfectly well love Jonathan without being gay, eunuchs aren't trans people, and the Bible bans lots of people from church. The Bible is chock full of homophobia, sexism, racism and all sorts of other bullshit. You can't twist the Bible to be LGBTQ-friendly, you have to accept that it's flawed.
Whoa, someone using the word "casualty" correctly?
A brick isn't a crystal, it's a semi-amorphous composite material.
The image says Sweden pays to import trash, but as the text explains, it actually gets paid, which makes more sense. This also doesn't mean that Sweden just burns all its trash – great recycling is the reason they've run out of things to burn. Some of the imported trash is also recycled, mainly metal from the ashes.
It's a concern, but when everything works as intended it's not a big problem. These places are very good at reducing air pollution. Still releases CO2, of course, but it's better than just dumping it all in a pile.
"But why are the taxes so high?"
Meanwhile 30 million Sikhs:
I wonder where he bought that yellow shirt.
Not to be that guy, but hair implants on a guy aren't gender-affirming unless it's on his chest or something. Being bald is male-coded.
Oh "anniversary", at first I thought "fourth date". That would be impressive.
Also fun fact: If your state is in the US, it has a law that makes it illegal to give financial or military aid to Israel if it ever gets nuclear weapons.
All good fun until the tram comes.
Using aliens as distraction isn't new. But they're usually human aliens.
Understandable sentiment, but maybe we should try to be nice to people who are finally coming around. Not to go all Jesus on you or anything.
The thing about Hitchhiker's Guide though, is that it has no story. It's funny writing about nothing. It would probably be better to have Adams cover something that does have a story.
That can't be a real display, how is the 1 so narrow?
Is this a sex thing? Let me rephrase that: Is this intentionally a sex thing?
You mean her stepbro?
Yeah, and then people (including whoever made #5) are basically saying "I don't even care if it wasn't 62 million!" I think you should care if the information you're spreading is false. There are enough real problems in the world, you're not helping by making up fake ones.
Well Trump has already started praising Allah, right?
There were several theories as to how he died. One was the son killed him for the soap money. Another was he went mad and killed himself (why else seven socks?). A third was that he was mistaken for a mr Hawley, a fellow beefeater, who was suspected of killing Earl something-or-other, who was in the Tower for conspiring to kill the king.
Fun fact 3: In the process of writing it, Newton invented calculus. Around the same time, Leibniz also invented calculus. Years later they ended up in a court battle, over basically who had the copyright for calculus. But by then, Newton was rich and famous, and got himself appointed judge! After this, British mathematicians used Newton's system, everyone else used Leibniz's, and thus, as my professor put it, "the British mathematicians accompliced absolutely nothing for the next hundred years".
Fun fact 2: Newton had to rewrite the book a *second* time. The first rewrite used formulas and mathematical symbols, just like we do today, but back then everyone did maths using long words in Latin, so they didn't get it. He had to make another version, using long words in Latin. Fortunately the first rewrite is still preserved, and much easier to read today.
There's much more fun to this story! I've given lectures about it a couple of times. Fun fact 1: How did Halley get the money to publish? He inherited, after his dad (a soap mechant) was found dead floating down the Thames wearing nothing but seven socks. The son was suspected of killing him, but acquitted.
Colourblind in the mouth, I guess?
#2 yes I can misspell it
