If the rate you are pouring the liquid is faster than the amount of air going in the container, then the water gurgles. if enough air is supplied while pouring then you get a smoother pour. Every first cup of tea i had from a fresh gallon pitcher always gurgled until i cut a small hole in the lid for air to enter while pouring.

Tearing it out means, replacing decorative wall trim, Replacing or restaining the floor under the section, Adding railing using the exist piece, finding different poles for railing, Repainting all of the affected areas. This will honestly cost so much more than getting a nice looking bench or Fountain to put there for non holidays, and then using the space for holidays. Point is I would Fucking love to have this in my house
