Average is closer to an hour. Longest was 4 hours. I would need more space, but there are a number of reasons why slow and steady is best.

How fast you can achieve criticality, and how fast you can do it safely are two entirely different things.
The requirements to become a RO at a nuclear plant are actually more stringent than becoming a nuclear engineer at one.
Some reactor operators are engineers. Most are not. Operations and engineering are different disciplines, essentially.

It looks like he was positioned too far towards the center of the aircraft, the exhausts are just to either side of the fuselage. 1/2
