it's funny because in my lifetime social and productive software has kind of flipped. it used to be that you could use a myriad of social networks all trying to outdo each other for convenience/service (MSN, ICQ, myspace, etc), now social media is like 3 megacorp zombie slop wastelands that you can ignore. meanwhile pro software that used to be gatekept by Msoft, Adobe, Maya etc charging thousands, but now there are a ton of open source/free alternatives that get the job done as well or better
