That has no bearing on whether or not we have a good voting system. Winner takes all and the EC are terrible.
My biggest criticism of dems is that they've been weak, and let the GOP control the narrative. Hopefully the current house has some balls.
So essentially, a failure of the voting system. It didn't have to be that way.

The VA isn't single payer. It's single provider. Medicare is our equivalent, and it works very well.
Imagine getting your license renewed cost thousands of dollars, and you needed to pay a 3rd party every month so you could get a low price.
