You might check the integrity of the wiring - a lot of these need very clean connections to properly communicate, and often are better completely replacing the wiring to avoid splices, wire nuts, etc.

It looks like the original comment was deleted (or I'm dumb and missing something obvious) so I can't easily see your exact proposal, but a good one (to me) would be to pick up a pack or 2 from a handful of different places that sell the EXACT same product and do more or less the same process as here - take a scale, verify the scale reads through a reasonable range near your target weight (~20%or ~80%) and sample each pack. "random" selections at a scale can be a good indicator of the whole pop.

You've gone through some ridiculously sized, shaped, and particularly loftily hung hoops for that conclusion. Short of some ACTUAL proof he's lying, there's no grand reason to be overly distrustful. The worst of his sins, in my opinion, is just that his sample size and selection method sucks ass - it's likely they're all from the same lot batch, so a bad scale would obviously impact much of the batch. That said, an arbitrary selection is a good indicator of the average population.

Its zero value works, its 100g matches the provided weight, unless that scale is rated for a huge weight total, I don't see why I'd doubt the calibration at all. 1lb is 16oz which is ~454 grams, so a 100g weight is more than the 20% lower end you'd need to check to verify calibration. The linearization across those two know points (0 and 100g) makes it pretty damn impossible to NOT be calibrated, really.

Yeah, it was Cibola Burn - honestly I suspect it's mostly that they'd used a different voice actor for the audiobook initially, and while it's done well, it's not the same 😅 I'm pretty sure the original voice actor redid that one, though.
