Drove an old manual gearbox Ford Escort in high school. But by the 2000s, they were largely phased out in the USA. But 15 years later I needed to travel to Indonesia and I had to rent a car, and the only cars available were manual.

Solution? I went to a sports car dealership and convinced them to let me test drive a Porsche 911, just to kick start my recollection of shifting gears.

Unfortunately they drive on the other side of the road in Indonesia, but that's a different story.

I had 3 cookies over the course of about 12 hours on Saturday. Amazing day but the sleep was the best part. That night I had the most amazing dream of my life. Pure sensation, like floating, almost like a religious experience. My dreams are almost always stressful, nightmares often. This was like the polar opposite. Pure feeling of peace, freedom.

Never got to see Tool live but close enough, I saw A Prefect Circle on their inaugural tour. Fucking amazing.

The Harbour bridge is unmistakable. Top five in terms of recognizability. Golden Gate, London Tower, Manhattan, Brooklyn, & Sydney Harbour.

But highly dependent on where you're living

I had a cheap apartment in Manhattan. Midtown east. But every lunch was like $20 for a sandwich and Sprite. Rent was north of $4000.

Great money in Barcelona, OK money in Seoul, shit money in New York (last 3 places I lived). Don't assume what is a "living wage".

I once hopped on a flight on a whim to have a first date on the plane. Spent the night at Atlanta airport, flew back the next morning.

OK man I've been on the ground at Apple. Have you been in a room with their marketing folks. Check yourself before you wreck yourself.

Not with consumer durables, no. Not at all. Honda doesn't expect you to buy a new Civic every year, for example.

I used to consult at Apple in Cupertino in 2015. Their whole business model is based on the users that buy every new phone. Full stop.
