There's actually many countries where the currency symbol goes after the number! So while a dollar sign (Canada, US, Australia, etc) would go in front in typically English-speaking countries, friend here is probably from a country where their currency symbol goes after, hence the format. Even if you go to French-speaking Canada they label with Price$.
I knew I was non-binary (as part of the trans umbrella) before I knew I was autistic. Got my top surgery before I got my diagnosis. Autistic people aren't some group of naive simpletons that are being "talked into sex-changes". Some autistic people are queer, and some aren't. Just like any other group of people.
Owls close their eyes when they're eating (or in this case when something gets close to their face) in order to protect their eyes, rather than a "showing affection" behaviour for them.
I'm sorry that I can't offer you any advice but I will say to please please do a LOT of research on a program or facility claiming to deal in "troubled teens". It is an unregulated industry (at least in the US) rife with abuse. Perhaps some kind of leadership or skills-based program/camp. For me the diagnosis just confirmed what I'd been thinking was up after some research. Therapy has been helping me a lot, after a year I've made a lot of progress on a number of issues both related and unrelated to my neurodivergence. Though, a lot of it stems from the consequences of being undiagnosed as a child/adolescent. Therapy has been just "normal" therapy I guess? Not CBT or anything specific, with a therapist (also neurodivergent) who focuses on that area. It does get better.

And now also has a dinosaur museum named after him! Philip J Currie Dinosaur Museum just outside Grande Prairie, AB. (Worked there in education a few years ago)
As another autistic person, it's *so* exhausting to mask. I realized I had been burnt out for years because of exactly this. Always having to change myself to fit rather than any kind of accommodation or understanding.

Most of us are, heck even I have a hard time remembering sometimes and I use they/them for myself! Just like any group, there's always going to be people who aren't patient or understanding.
I think they meant fix as in spay/neuter rather than train in this case

This. Raised as a girl (am non-binary), finally diagnosed at 28. Be quiet and behave, be a "good girl" even if you're in sensory overload.
For me it's cooking the fruit, Im only allergic to the certain fruits when they're raw but fine once they're cooked. I miss fresh apples :(
